    Hi everyone! As RuneScape is now out on Steam, a few of us at the RS Wiki have created a number of guides for new and returning players to the game, so that they can get to grips with the basics and what they might've missed.

    For new players, we've put three guides up on the Steam community hub which are meant to be short, sweet, and concise guides on starting the game:

    • New Player Guide to RuneScape - Covering the basics of the game such as moving around, basic skilling, basic combat, early questing, and important things to know when starting out
    • PvM Introduction Guide - Brief introduction to combat, a rough overview of bossing and how the progression through various bosses works, and useful items to bring along
    • Introduction to Money Making - Introduction to making money in RuneScape, with a couple of very easy methods for brand new players

    For returning players, we also have a guide for returning players on the RS Wiki that covers a timeline of the previous years and what you might've missed in your time being away. Even if you've only been away for a year, it's worth checking out and seeing if there's anything notable that you weren't around for.

    Hopefully these guides can help players both new and existing come into the game and have an enjoyable experience, without having to bounce between wiki pages or manuals. We do plan to put the new player guide from Steam up on the wiki at a future date :)

    If you're new or only just returning to RuneScape and you have any questions, please feel free to comment below and there's plenty of people that will be able to help!

    Hello, i never played any runescape before and i am really scared because i don't really know what will i do and what is the meta etc. Should i try it anyway or should i skip it ? i don't want to feel completely lost in this game.

    Today's Steam celebration Stream they gave us an update on the order updates will come for the last bit of the year.

    • Halloween Event Happens later this month. *edit* exact date is confirmed to be the 26th
    • RS3's construction contracts update will be the November update
    • The new boss will be released in December
    • The new quest will also be in December and it will act as the Christmas event

    For those who haven't kept up on what these updates consist of here is what we know....

    Halloween Event is being designed to be a proper event and will bring with it something, a place, a person, etc... we don't know that will expand on with new stories each year. This is part of a bigger push to make things like Halloween a consistent given every year.

    This year OSRS got a construction contracts update called Mahogany homes. RS3 had their own construction contracts update which was built in tandem with OSRS's. It's not the full construction rework people want, nor does it remove the rework from the table, but it's designed to be for construction what safecracking was for thieving.

    The new boss has been in works for awhile it's a solo/duo high end PvM boss that they compared to 100% rage Telos. They've been dropping hints to it in the updates they've been releasing this year.

    The new quest will not be as major as Desperate Measures was.
