Jagex, before RuneScape is released on Steam, PLEASE move The Curator from Burthorpe. Posted: 12 Oct 2020 05:37 PM PDT I made a post a few weeks ago about this issue when the new Yak Track came out, but now that RuneScape is coming to Steam in a few days, I think it is important to reiterate: The Curator (and by extension, the Yak Track) is extremely confusing for new players. Here is a bit of what I posted a few weeks ago, that is relevant to this issue:
With the possible stream of new players coming from Steam, The Curator's current location in Burthorpe is potentially disastrous for the release. A great deal of new players could become disinterested or overwhelmed by the game, simply by talking to him. The amount of effort it would take to move him from Burthorpe to, say, the Dig Site, is exceptionally minimal in comparation to the potential damage his existence could do to the number of new players we get from Steam. Call me paranoid, but I truly do think that this is a serious, yet extremely solvable issue, regarding the release of RuneScape on the platform. TL;DR: The Curator, located in Burthorpe, may confuse many new players coming from Steam. Moving him to the Dig Site would take little effort, with a massive potential benefit. EDIT: It has come to my attention that The Curator does not talk to F2P players. Although this is good, my point still stands in terms of both the Yak Track being located in Burthorpe, as well as the viewpoint of a player returning to the game after a long time. In these cases, the simple location of this event does not lend itself to the new player experience whatsoever. In the future, I would love to see the event located in a more appropriate location, further away from the game's starting zone. [link] [comments]

Quick/Simple Question: Any reason to prefer playing on Steam? Posted: 13 Oct 2020 10:54 AM PDT Hi All, I have been playing (on and off) for years. I have also had Steam for years. Is there any reason/benefit to playing through Steam as opposed to just opening the client/app like normal? Or is the whole Steam thing just to get new players onboard? Sinkhole Question - Potential Bug or Programming Miss? Posted: 13 Oct 2020 08:00 AM PDT Today I placed first in a sinkhole. Here's what happened: -The second place person played beguiling smoke devil which caused me to lose my huge lamp. -I then played whimsical bunyip because I didn't really have any other good options and I wanted to see what would happen. -The bunyip pulled a reversing Phoenix card, so I thought it would reverse the effect of the beguiling smoke devil, but it did nothing. Should it not undo what the last player did? Based on the description it sounds like it reverts back to the conditions "before the last card was played" so maybe it considered my bunyip the last card played and therefore changed nothing. If that is indeed the case, is that a bug or a miss in the programming or is it intentional? Shouldn't it just reverse what the last player did so that it doesn't make the reversing Phoenix useless when a bunyip is played? Thoughts? [link] [comments]
Will Orthen Digsite include an "Item Sink" for Dinosaur Scales? Posted: 13 Oct 2020 11:48 AM PDT Considering how dirt cheap they're at the moment, it would be nice to know right about now, to prevent they spike in price like Sandstone did when the Blessed Flask got released. Same for dinosaur hide armour, i have a feeling it will be used for a mystery and people will pay crazy money like they did with Shiny Cows. [link] [comments]
