Suggestion: Allow us to have a seed for interfaces/settings that we can copy to other accounts/friends accounts

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 09:02 AM PST

With how hard it is to work on the RS3 interface system I think this would be a good idea to help new players get the information they need on the screen.

It took me well over a year before I got a good interface, before that I was juggling between all these menus trynig to replicate the RS2 look.

A new player can come in as for a good interface and be given "a61b34c0" which would then load up a certain interface, they can get it from the Wiki, their friends, their clan etc... and not have to fluff around trying to figure out what is important or not.

The interface is great but the learning curve is steep and the default settings really make the new player experience difficult, I think this would help with new player retention

    Looking to get into RuneScape.

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 02:59 PM PST

So I'm debating getting into RS because I want a nice MMO timewaster, however I'm a little confused on all the information to take in. Which RS do people recommend, and why? Where can I get with F2P until I'm able to get membership, and what kinda community exists in RS? Honestly just any general knowledge for a noob like me about the game would be wonderful.

    Crashes on mac client

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 10:19 AM PST

I'm having increasingly worse issues with this. My mac can run almost anything I need with no problems, but RS has frame spikes, random client crashes and has even crashed my mac on occasion.

Don't downvote if you're not having this problem. Just because you're not experiencing it doesn't mean others aren't. In fact, it seems to be quite common among mac users.

Jagex PLEASE take the time to have a look at this, because I am sick of losing Telos streaks to this...

    T90 Woodcutting Hatchet: Nymph's Bane

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 08:21 AM PST

We've had some calls for a Tier 90 Hatchet since the Mining/Smithing Rework launched.

For the record, the T90 Mining Pickaxe of Earth and Song has a relatively long process behind it:

    - Crystal Pickaxe = Dragon Pickaxe with 4000 Harmonic Dust and completing Plague's End

    - Imcando Pickaxe = Gilded Dragon Pickaxe with the pickaxe fragments from Lava Flow Mine and completing Birthright of the Dwarves

    - Blast Fusion Hammer = 1m GP and completing While Guthix Sleeps

    - Level 90 Smithing

So there is a lot of work that goes into unlocking that Pick unlock with needing 2 Dragon Pickaxes (1 for base of Crystal and 1 for base of Imcando)

For a similarity, for whatever T90 Hatchet, we luckily have several comparable items:

    - Crystal Hatchet = Dragon Hatchet with 4000 Harmonic Dust and completing Plague's End. This requirement would be identical to the Crystal Pickaxe.

    - Level 90 Smithing. This would need to remain for consistency.

    - Inferno Adze = 92 Firemaking and completing All Fired Up (to start Beacon Network), Land of the Goblins, Troll Stronghold. The Adze and Imacando Pickaxe aren't quite equivalent as the Adze does have a lone Lvl 90 skill requirement, the log cost to get the Adze still doesn't quite equate to the difficulty in acquiring a Dragon Pickaxe. The rest of the base skills to unlock the Imcando exceed the Inferno Adze.

    - Blast Fusion Hammer = 1m GP and complete While Guthix Sleeps. This would remain for consistency.

I'd propose adding something like a "Refined Bane Ingot". This smithing item would considered a 'lite' version of a Glorious Bar. In this example, players would need say the total number of bars to make like a Bane +4 item. There would be a process of heating and hammering would follow along the typical smithing process, but the 'Ingot' would be untradeable.

Once the Ingot is complete, there could be 2 options:

    - Option 1: Creation of a T80 Hatchet that would use the Ingot + Inferno Adze to make something similar to the Imcando Pickaxe mechanics (T80 and can be augmented) This T80 Hatchet would then be used a base item to create the T90 Hatchet.

    - Option 2: The 'ingot' would be simply added to the recipe for making a T90 Hatchet (skipping the creation of a T80 hatchet for now)

Much like the Pickaxe of Earth and Song, the T90 Hatchet would be augmentable.

The name Nymph's Bane would be something of a placeholder. (Though I guess if a T80 hatchet was created this way, Adze + Bane metal ... Nymph's Bane would be apt given the name would fit on multiple levels.)

    MacBook crashes

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 08:35 AM PST

I've played OSRS for a few years and decided to tryout RS3. Well not even though character creation and crash. Get back on and complete a few tasks and crash. Had a total of 4 crashes in 35 minutes. I'm running low settings on a 2014 MacBook Pro. I've seen no helpful solutions on their forums so I figured I'd come here and give this one last shot. Thank you in advance.

Is a Runescape membership still worth it?

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 03:24 PM PST

    Hello!

I stopped playing runescape like, 5 years or so ago. In moving out, going to college, etc, I didn't have internet or the time to play. I used to play for YEARS, and I recently built a gaming PC, and was thinking of getting a membership again. I know it's cheap, but is it worth the money? Also, is RS3 as bad as elitists make it out to be? Why? Is oldschool the way to go? What new is there to do?

Alternately, is it worth playing without paying for a membership?

Sorry this is so broad, I'm just so behind, and I'm scared it's too late for me to just easily jump back into it.

    Thanks!!

    Help with new challenge system.

    Posted: 10 Jan 2020 04:02 PM PST

So i've just started playing again for the first time in months and noticed the challenge system had changed. I did all my challenges and got reasonable XP from them apart from Construction where i only got 745xp. I can only see from the wiki that apparently they give the equivalent of a huge lamp so i don't know how i could have only gotten so little xp when i'm level 67.
