    Rant Wednesday - 01 January

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 04:11 PM PST

Rant Wednesday is a monthly thread for exactly what you might think it's for. Rant, vent, complain, comment, speak your mind and air your grievances with anything concerning RuneScape, Jagex, or even the subreddit itself! This is your time to get whatever you want off your chest, so make it count!

You might find that having constructive elements to your comment be received and embraced better by others, but it is by no means required. Think of "keep it constructive" more as a suggestion, than a requirement. The only real requirement is that you follow our subreddit rules, which includes no personal attacks, personally identifiable information, harassement, or anything that can be reasonably considered excessive.

Have fun, and (try to) play nice!

Mass use of alt accounts ruins pretty much everything it touches

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 12:56 PM PST

Just reading slowly through the front page posts like this -

    https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/eibydm/hopefully_something_that_can_eventually_be_added/

    and

    https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/eig70e/the_plan_to_nerf_nostamina_mining_is_going_to/

    - make it oh so painfully clear. And it's nothing we haven't known for a while to begin with. These aren't the only issues with have with people using alts in mass.

And just to make this clear, it's in mass. There's no issue with the people who are just multilogging mains with their iron, or their skiller or their osrs account or whatever. It's not even comparable due to the complete difference in intentions.

It is not within the spirit of the game to farm anything with enormous numbers of alt accounts at once. It does have it's effects on the games economy to the point where Jagex sometimes intervenes and makes changes that adjusts said changed piece of content for all players, not just alt users.

You're welcome to sit there and do all sorts of hypothetical math to try and suggest that those out there using as many as 12 alterante accounts aren't have any effect, but save it. There's not enough information for calcs, but two months ago I was at World 70(Artisans Workship), there were two enormous sets of alt accounts that you could easily see due to the names being coordinated. One of them numbered 14 accounts, as admitted by the owner when asked. Those are just the groups on one world that we can easily recognize. It's going to leave a mark on the game. It already has.

You shouldn't have to play on 10 accounts at once to get enjoyment out of this game. That much I can assure you. There are all sorts of activities for you to enjoy on just one account, let alone two or three, and if that doesn't satisfy you, then you should find a new game.

Anymore than 3 alternate accounts logged in at once is unhealthy and not good for the game, nor is it in the spirit of the game. I'm suggesting 3 simply because it seems fair, but we need to restrict multi-logging somewhat.

... and you receive 16x Adamantite stone spirits.

The rare drop table needs modernising, even if it is just replacing old stone spirits with the new equivalents, ie coal with luminite etc.

Also 1x uncut diamond is just depressing. We have so many new and useful items that could be implemented instead

Please let meerkats join us on the hefin course while doing clue step.

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 01:09 PM PST

As of right now, we have to dismiss our meerkats before we can do the master clue step that requires you to complete a lap. I know that we can take the light familiar, but I would hope that we could take meerkats too.

Add right click option to use expert cape perks from inventory.

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 12:56 PM PST

I thought it would be a good idea to put my slayer and dungeoneering capes into the support cape, but in order to see either menu you have to right click, select perks, then click which one to use, then choose activate. This is way too many clicks just to open a menu.

If the cape is worn you can simply right click to select which cape perk to activate, but not so in your inventory.

Allow us to bd onto familiars

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 07:55 AM PST

Can be quite annoying or disastrous when you are trying to bd somewhere quickly, but a familiar happens to be on the same tile and so blocks the tile with themselves preventing you from bding

Small suggestion, add the ability to buy an untrimmed version of your first 99 even if you get a second 99 shortly there after

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 10:33 AM PST

for some of us, our first 99s are 99s like firemaking which are quick and easy to get, for some of us, our first 99s are ungodly rare such as untrimmed invention or summoning. But no matter what your first 99 is, there's something almost prestigious about that first, untrimmed cape that first sign of "yeah i did it" even for buyable and afk skills.

So, here's what i'd suggest, if you have an untrimmed version of a skillcape, make it so it does not auto trim on our second 99, and, allow us to buy untrimmed versions of that first skill cape from vendors, purely for cosmetic/keepsake reasons.

I know it's not that big or even noteworthy of an update suggestion, but for a lot of 10+ year vet players like myself our skillcapes invoke a certain level of nostalgia, i for example had 99 constitution as my first real skillcape and keepsaked it not terribly long after so i still have mine untrimmed, but i've got more than a few old buddies that unfortunately did not do so and regret it so, for the nostalgia of some, and bragging rights of others, lets have a small update that lets us reclaim the untrimmed skillcapes we first aquire(d).
