MEGA THREAD: ARCHAEOLOGY, RuneScape's 28th Skill

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 03:07 AM PDT

    Halowa everyone,

    Archaeology, is finally here!

Archaeology is RuneScapes 28th Skill and there will be something for everyone to enjoy, whether you are a veteran or brand new to the game.

    ---

    Information:

    ---

    Updates:

The load on our Servers is extremely high so it might take a little longer to log in. Additional asset servers are now up and running too, so hopefully it will make it slightly faster. we are constantly monitoring the situation.

more and more players have fully downloaded the cache and the amount of players in-game keeps increasing. To give a sense of scale we have 10 times as much load on our asset servers compared to what we normally would have during an update. The most pressure seem to be on our frankfurts servers (Europe region)

13:13 Game Time: Smithing is re-enabled as a skill and the bug granting huge XP drops has been fixed.

    ---

Please use this post to include all feedback, issues, etc you find with today's update.

This post will also be used to provide updates over the course of the day, if deemed necessary.

    enjoy and good luck archaeologists!

    Archaeology Appreciation Thread

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 03:18 PM PDT

Okay so I just finished my RS day off with achieving 40 Arch and I feel like I can't take a step away from my PC without leaving my opinion here.

I am mostly a casual, lore enthusiast kind of player. Thus, grinding and the likes were never my type of thing. When I first heard about Archaeology coming out, all I thought of was "okay, another mining... maybe with a lore book or two".

However, what has been presented to us today is perhaps the most FUN skill since Dungeoneering, and, if it keeps this up along the road to 120 - one of my favourite updates ever!!

The variety the digsites and other aspects brings to the table is super welcome, and the settings so far are AMAZING. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Mysteries feature. Solving puzzles, reading lore and exploring to UNLOCK new things is awesome.

Thanks for taking the time to polish this skill. Thank you for Archaeology!

    Zodiac Puzzle solutions

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 01:50 PM PDT

    Hi so i solved the zodiac puzzle for the Infernal Source, the solutions are as follows;
    Aries: I used a lorehound
Taurus: Anger emotion near portal, then before talking
    Gemini: Harlequin Cow (Shiny)
    Cancer: Red dye
Leo: Low HP (get low health prior to entering the Infernal source)
    Virgo: A bacon strip cooked
Libra: Raspberry near portal, then before talking
Scorpio: Frog spawn (obtained via fishing in the Lumbridge swamp)
Sagittarius: Protection prayer overhead (was on normal prayers)
Capricorn: Fake beard from Capt. Braindeath.
Aquarius: Goblin potion (requires Capricorn before you can use it)
    Pisces: Dragon bones.
The top floor has 5 (Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Pisces and Aries)
Middle has 4 (Leo, Cancer, Gemini, Taurus)
Bottom has 3 (Capricorn, Aquarius and Sagittarius).

    Hope this helps.

If you complete the puzzles Mephisto gives you, the chance of failure to teleport is reduced a lot.
