    Alt1 Construction Contracts app

    Posted: 08 Dec 2020 02:51 PM PST

Hey hey everyone, if you're doing contracts like me and got annoyed with having to remember what you need to bring to each job, this is the alt1 app for you!

You can install it here (either open this in the alt1 browser or click the link on the page): https://chisel.weirdgloop.org/gazproj/alt1/contracts.html

Please feel free to report bugs or give feedback here, or to me in discord (@Gaz#7521, https://discord.gg/runescapewiki)

This is my first time using node/webpack/etc so let me know if you find bugs etc

If alt1 isn't your thing, I also wrote this calculator for the wiki: https://runescape.wiki/w/Construction_Contracts#Calculator

    Usage

When you have the contract interface on-screen, press the 'Read contract' button or alt+1 (or whatever your primary keybind is, if you changed it). It should read the contract and give you a list of the things on the contract, the materials required, the XP earned, and a map of where to go. (You may need to resize it larger to see the map.)

You can select your plank and nails from the dropdown if you like. Nails don't actually matter but hey.

    Notes and known issues

    • Beds are always overestimated since I'm not currently detecting if its a small or large bed, so I assume large bed so you always bring enough stuff.
    • It should be reasonably reliable at detecting things but I can't guarantee that, so please post examples if it misreads or fails to read something (stuff may vary with graphics/renderer/etc).
    • The auto-detect option may be laggy.
    • It should work in legacy skin/UI.

If you normally use guides to learn PvM content, then you are in no position to judge whether the boss needs a nerf or not, and let's be real that's a majority of players

    Posted: 08 Dec 2020 05:33 AM PST

I'm not trying to throw any flak, I am simply trying to point out that a majority of complainers have probably never tackled any PvM without outside help, in the form of a guide or otherwise. I'm very sure that most of you would be able to kill the boss just fine once guides start springing up.

The boss's design itself is fine, it simply has the prerequisite of knowing what all abilities do, and having muscle memory down for prayer flicking. It's a proper challenge that took me about 1 hour of practice + trial and error to figure out and get my first kill, and trust me I am nowhere near amazing at this game. I'm good enough because I put in the effort of learning, but that's where it ends.

The only argument I've seen with merit is that Raksha is absolutely not a "mid level boss inbetween Rax and Telos". There's way too much multitasking going around in the fight for it to be remotely mid level (and not to mention accuracy issues). Raksha is on the same level of difficulty as Solak and should have been advertised as such: endgame content.
