Lets be honest Jagex, Yack Track and Traveling Artisan are just not fun. They make for a miserable and unhealthy game environment.

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 12:16 PM PDT

So you claim to care about Mental Health, if you care so much then start focusing on game content that is fun.

We have enough stress in real life and are suppose to get away from obligations and deadlines in this game. Constantly making events that have a deadline is exactly what most of the gamers don't need.

Most will NOT pay into these. You are hurting your customers by making addicting content with constant deadlines to grind-fest it before it is too late. RS was suppose to be a game where people can destress from deadlines and time management and just enjoy the game.

While a good percentage can easily ignore these kind of events or simply buy into them, there is a large part of the community that become addicted to getting all these over-rides and pets and you're constantly putting stress on them that they need to focus on constant time limited events instead of just enjoying RS.

Orthen Dig Site - Coming October 19th!

I know Jagex is struggling to decide upon what type of forest layout they should stick with for future Karamja (factoring obstruction, spacing and general visibility) and I think Tuai Leit's bamboo forest is a good formula. Well-defined open spaces to forest cluster ratio + clearings is good design.

Give Elite Dungeons a Level Requirement

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 08:27 AM PDT

Short of a complete nerf or rebalancing e.g. eliminating trash mob gp/xp drops, EDs should be locked behind a level requirement.

90+ dungeoneering would be a good start considering they're supposed to be 'elite' dungeons.

Insanity that a low effort activity can pump out >1m xp/hr & 6m gp/hr. Content has been nerfed for less.

I started playing runescape again at the start of covid. I bought a membership and only had 40-50ish in all f2p skills. So the requirements for the eleven quest series was quite a far off goal. Today makes the end of a 5 month grind, can’t believe I can finally use Prif now!

I hate the Travelling Artisan events

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 06:35 AM PDT

The token events were dumb but straight forward and not terrible when it was only 10k.

But they had to push it. More tokens, less time, both.

This however is just too far. Requiring part-time to full-time job level of time and work. And to top it off, materials totalling millions.

For what? Overrides? A banana knife you see for a second made from 10 polygons and 1 color?

And now more of the same trash. And it's for a mental health organization when limit-time events are specifically designed to exploit the fear of missing out. It's deplorable. It's hypocritical. And it's not worth it.

    No.

Does anyone else love completing archeology mysteries without guides?

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 11:02 AM PDT

I'm 80 archeology and so far I've completed about 80% of mysteries I can at my level without a guide. I can't do this with quests because a lot of quests feel straight up impossible without a quest guide. I feel like mysteries are so rewarding when you do them without guides and they aren't as challenging as some quests. The hardest mystery that I haven't completed so far is probably the zamorakian gargoyle one. I figured out some items but I still have so much more to do.

I'm just wondering how many people do this too and your experiences.

Thought I would rant on here as no one else does /s

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 04:12 PM PDT

    TLDR at the bottom.

Let me start off by explaining that I have taken a break many times before on RS and I have always known I would be back. Why? Well many reasons, real-life shenanigans, lack of money for P2P before bonds and bored of the game due to overplaying, etc.

However, this time is different. This year I really enjoyed Arch... That's pretty much it. Sure I enjoy PVM even if I am a noob at it and I enjoy that after 16 years my account is almost maxed, but these aren't new shiny things to play with. As you will have guessed by my old account and not maxed status I don't hammer playtime and am not one for BIS or the most efficient methods. So I am not fatigued with that as some are.

I am genuinely disappointed with not only the lack of what I consider to be worthwhile updates. I am also just as annoyed by the constantly recycled crap that they throw at us that I hate. Yak Track, Travelling Artisan, DXP weekends and to some extent the beach. I do not enjoy these at the frequency that we are getting them, hell I don't enjoy some of them full stop. Other games do 'seasons' well and I enjoy them. Think of COD. But with each new season comes new content (on COD this is maps, guns, etc and not just cosmetics). We get cosmetics and literally the same content with a new skin.

This time when I take a break I won't be coming back when I can or in a few weeks when I am not bored anymore. I will come back when the game is being taken care of properly and at this moment in time, I cannot see that happening. I am not the only one that thinks this, which is saddening considering I have spent 16 years on and off playing this game.

Some of you will argue that you enjoy it, or they are doing QOL updates and bringing it to new platforms, etc. I used to agree but how long have we been waiting for the proper phone app now? Most games do QOL updates alongside content updates, RS used to. And if you do enjoy the new format RS seems to be going down then fair enough I hope you enjoy the game, but myself and others won't be. The worrying trend of fewer and fewer players and worlds getting emptier each year would suggest I am not alone.

    TLDR
Yak Track and Artisan etc sucks and they are not game updates but recycled garbage. This time my break might actually be a quit.

After the Mac stability update, I have lines across almost all menus/buttons (e.g. bank presets, settings). Mid 2012 MacBook Pro. Not unplayable in any way, but it’s an issue regardless.

Fix the "Tactics coming soon" screen on bosses.

    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 02:51 AM PDT

A lot of bosses which have been out for a looong time have a very nice "learn" button.. seems good right?

Here's the problem, when you click it you are greeted with the message "Tactics coming soon". How soon? Seeing as Nex AoD is almost FOUR years old.

Please make it so that you can show the different specials a boss does (like the spinner phase at Ambassador or the magic onslaught attack). If this is too much effort at least link the wiki strategy guide for the boss, seeing as the wiki is already integrated in game.

A list of bosses without a learn guide:

    1. Nex AoD

    2. Literally every Elite Dungeons boss

    3. Solak
