    Add Archeology Urns

    Posted: 22 Oct 2020 05:59 AM PDT

Now that the XP embargo is over, I feel like archeology urns would be a great addition to the game. The brooch of the gods currently holds decorative urns, there are 9 of them. The addition of this urn would make it look very nice with 2 rows of 5 on the tooltip. Basically every other gathering skill and several production skills have them and I see no reason why they shouldn't be implemented.

Powerburst of opportunity is frustrating to use

    Posted: 22 Oct 2020 05:21 AM PDT

Overall I love the Orthen update and think it was really well done. I think many of the new potions are a bit underwhelming, but I was quite excited for the new powerburst of opportunity potion. However, while it's great for mining, I've been finding it really frustrating to use with archaeology.

Mining rockertunities are very predictable, and this makes it easy to use the potion right before you click the shiny rock. But with archaeology, the sprite focus happens automatically, and rather unpredictably. To use the powerburst properly, you must time it to go off right as you hit 100% sprite focus. It's easy to accidentally press the potion a moment late, wasting the cooldown. This makes me want to use it a bit early to be safe, like at 96%, but if the sprite happens to move right then it can be easy to miss your chance. If you hit a node without the sprite, it reduces your sprite focus. And then many archaeology locations are pretty spread out which makes it even more likely you will lose your buff before you can get to the next node and reach 100%.

The obvious solution to this is just make the powerburst effect last a bit longer. Currently it only lasts for 9.6 seconds. Making it last 30 seconds, like the smithing powerburst, would make it much nicer to use. However, that may cause some issues where it's possible to get two sprite focus or rockertunity buffs in one use, which probably isn't intended. So I suggest the potion be changed to just buff your next sprite focus or rockertunity within 30 seconds, then the buff is removed. Again, this is similar to how the powerburst of masterstroke works.

This popup should probably just say it in the chatbox and not constantly appear here when making urns.

Does anyone here think a 'legendary' level of quests past the difficulty of Grandmaster should be produced in the upcoming years?

    Posted: 22 Oct 2020 06:14 AM PDT

I get that some GM quests are hard enough, but with requirements no higher than 85, many of them are at a level where most players can complete them with difficulty only on boss fights, which has been made easier over time.

I feel like a legendary quest kine with 90-99 requirements could work nicely for the current population of players, many of whom are way above base 80 and have completed the hardest quests with essentially great ease.

I've been considering the upcoming elder god and GWD3 content and believe there is room for a good, strong quest line where the entry quests are around master-grandmaster level.

For anyone who wishes to say that this would make the content unavailable for many players, I personally see no problem with that. We have tonnes of content to aim for with 99-120 skills and its some of the most sought after content.

Provided the rewards for such a quest are appropriate, I believe that the desire to reach and complete a legendary quest would be beneficial for the game in terms of keeping players interested.

What are your thoughts on the pros and cons of such an idea?
