Anachronia - Ninja Fixes & Improvements

Anachronia - Ninja Fixes & Improvements

With the upcoming release of Desperate Measures, here is a list of changes that could benefit Anachronia.

    • Increase Hunter marks acquired from Big Game Hunter. Currently players receive more Hunter marks from AFK catching butterflies on Anachronia. This seems wrong given that Big Game Hunter is the star attraction and is 'lean forward' gameplay in comparison to AFK Hunting butterflies.
    • The swamp biomes of Anachronia were originally supposed to have a rainfall effect (as seen in this video). However, this wasn't possible at the time due to Java. This should now be possible, however.
    • Allow dinosaurs to poop (Ranch Out of Time).
    • Ability to feed dinosaurs fish (Ranch Out of Time).
    • Place the Anachronia Teleport (unlocked in the normal spellbook when the Totem is active) in each spellbook, similar to Max Guild and War's Retreat teleports.
    • Make recharging Anachronia Totems weekly easier or more beneficial. This could be done in a variety of ways, such as:
      • Make recharging totems more rewarding experience-wise.
      • Reduce the amount of times the totems need recharging from per week to month. Alternatively, allow for totems to be 'overcharged' so that they are active for longer.
      • Have some sort of upkeep cost via an NPC to charge totems week-by-week, such as Pavosaurus Rex meat, divine energy, divine charges or GP. Alternatively, base camp materials could be used but as players would probably acquire more base camp materials than the cost this feels somewhat unbalanced.
    • Place a Spirit Tree farming patch on Anachronia, somewhere such as the Spirit Grove would make the most thematic sense.
      • May require base camp materials.
      • An additional Spirit Tree should be placed at level 92 or 117. Spirit Tree unlocks previously followed the pattern of an additional spirit tree every 3 levels after 83 (at 86 and 89). However, with the release of 120 Farming an additional Spirit Tree was placed at level 114 Farming for acquiring the first Farming reputation unlock. This broke the pattern and felt like it was done purely to fill a content gap. Given that a level '114' unlock is the first thing to acquire from Farming reputation also feels wrong, as you would expect there to be a significantly lower level reward.
    • Place a constructable Fairy Ring on Anachronia (requiring 5 Bittercap Mushrooms)
      • May require base camp materials.
    • Buff the Bone Blowpipe and Upgraded Bone Blowpipe
      • In January, Jagex said that they were looking at buffing the Bone Blowpipe and the new Herblore potions in order to keep new content relevant (such as 120 Farming/Herblore and Anachronia). This is yet to happen.
    • Place Agility shortcuts on Anachronia at highly requested locations. Such as near Laniakea, stepping stones across the Spirit Grove, shortcut from Base Camp to Spirit Grove, etc. It is important that these shortcuts have an Agility level requirement, in order to give the Agility skill some actual utility.
      • May require base camp materials.
    • Add dialogue to Laniakea in the South Eastern Ruins, or an examine/interactable option on the Dragonkin Statue on the South Eastern ruins. Currently, Laniakea states that she can read some of the Dragonkin text and that it translates to A, B and C. It would be nice for avid lore players to know the actual Dragonkin words which she has translated.
    • Graphically update the inventory icon for Irwinsson's Greatbow
    • Unlock the Elite Trapper outfit in the Hunter Mark Store if the player already owns the full outfit.
    • Increase the chance of rare drop when using Vile Bloom seeds on Anachronia, giving them an actual use - similar to how the Stalker Dungeon and Seeker Charms work.
      • This refers to Devil's Snare, Luminous Snaggler, Lampenflora and Liverwort seeds
    • Add base camp item bad luck mitigation /u/KaBob799
    • Increase the amount of trapper fragments acquired /u/Gooey_Gravy
    • Add a constructable Mushroom Patch in the Swamp area near Laniakea, as the new methods of acquiring mushrooms/insects to make RooT/POF cheaper are more expensive than alternatives. /u/UnwillingRedditer
      • May require base camp materials.

    Larger Additions

    • Add a Base Camp area for the Ranch Out of Time with various upgrades. Upgrades could offer effects such as reduced chance of Dinosaurs getting ill, acquiring more loot from RooT Dinosaurs, an additional Herb patch, etc.
    • Add new Hunter rewards purchased via Hunter Marks in order to encourage Big Game Hunter. Rewards such as a baby dinosaur pet, ability to insta-cut logs in BGH (so that the Hunter outfit can be worn instead of Woodcutting), enhanced yaktwee stick upgrade which gives the player a chance of receiving charms when training Hunter, ability to create and summon a new Dinosaur familiar with various Hunter buffs, teleport to Anachronia, additional damage against Dinosaurs, etc.
    • A Voice of Seren-like effect (Winds of Time?) which hour-by-hour increases the benefits of various content on Anachronia. E.g: More dark/light animica than elsewhere, more surge/escape codex pages, increased slayer experience/chance of rare loot, reduced BGH circle of awareness, faster rate of woodcutting, etc.
    • Add Double Bladed Dive Codex reward to the Anachronia Agility Course.
    • Add some form of Ranged Boots to Slayer Drop table, similar to Blast Diffusion and Laceration Boots. E.g: ranged effects such as Incendiary shot has a chance to be applied to enemies within a 3x3 range of target; increased bombardment radius; or chance that ranged attacks will damage enemies between the player and target.

PSA - You can use a conch shell for a chance to lower heat down by 1-3% letting you do dungeoneering again during happy hour but not if you are an Ironman!

    Floors 1-60 Large Completed in 4:11:57 - World's Best!

    Posted: 20 Jul 2020 05:04 AM PDT

    My POV

    Dat James' POV

Previous best was 4h24m. I'm very glad with this result. The main hurdle for this challenge is managing to stay focused for 4 hours, making as few mistakes as possible. In that regard, it went pretty well. Only 2 major mistakes that run.

In case anyone is interested, a normal 1-60 large run without any xp or token multipliers grants 7.3m xp possibly 7.4m (=740k tokens) if no deaths or if rocking the Deathless relic power.
    ~1.75m xp/hr on average;
    ~350k tokens/hr on average (under the effect of cloning mosquito card every floor);
Average floor time ~4:10 (bit less because of the time it takes to go into the next floor).

This is the new Crustacea armour on a female character btw... https://imgur.com/a/Bk5gV3F

Seriously it is hideous and done in poor taste. Jagex really out-bulked themselves with this summer outfit.... I feel likea burnt lobster!

The shape is terrible, the textures are so odd (shiny and doesn't match with anything else).

Can Jagex please stop 'designing' such terrible outfits? Bring back the old cosmetic sleek styles of Athlete's Outfit, Spooky Spider, Western Crew, Starfury outfits etc........ Please.

Possible ways to make vuln bombs a bit less clunky to utilize?

    Posted: 20 Jul 2020 02:30 AM PDT

Vulnerability bombs still feel somewhat clunky to use. I compiled some suggestions to make them a bit more user-friendly. Not all of these are necessary, they're all workarounds/fixes for a similar issue.

    1. Similarly to bladed dive, let vuln bombs ignore player interactions while outside of the wilderness. Currently, it's pretty annoying as u have to right click under people to throw bombs on those tiles. Having bombs ignore players in a similar manner to the bladed dive ability would help as it becomes less of a struggle to throw bombs on the right tile.
    2. If throwing a bomb on a boss that is blocking tiles (i.e. you cannot walk on those tiles), you currently have to manually find a good spot to throw these at. This can also be a struggle, especially for those who aren't familiar with the 'true center' of NPC's. I don't know if it's possible, but could this be changed so that throwing a vuln bomb on a blocking NPC (like Yaka, just to give a random example) actually throws the bomb in a good tile rather than just telling you you can't throw a bomb there?
    3. Some other kind of suggestion that I've seen pop up a lot but isn't really related to the issue that these other 2 suggestions lean towards. A possible option to throw bombs from the invent rather than the action bar? It's not optimal but I've seen a lot of people requesting it and it doesn't sound like a bad change regardless.

    Thoughts?

PSA: Sandy Scrolls not updated for this event

    Posted: 20 Jul 2020 04:06 AM PDT

When getting the sandy clue scroll "Investigate a magical portal that will take you to a far away land, home to pharaohs, factions, and phites."

There is no menaphos portal, take the anachronia portal and it works.

PSA: Beach Event Ice Cream isn't tradeable

    Posted: 20 Jul 2020 04:24 AM PDT

In years past you could trade/sell ice cream.

Seems this year they are untradable. So can't sell them on the GE nor trade between players. (Can't even "use" the item on another player.)

Then again, working on 2nd Thermometer and I am already up to 18 total (used 1 to reset gauge once, 1 on the red clue casket).
