Add a "single player mode" for all minigames.

    Posted: 10 Jul 2020 02:10 PM PDT

We are aware of the current state of minigames so I'll cut to the interesting part.

    • Adding a Single player option to all minigames would help revitalize them (for those willing to play them), the way this works is, based on your level, you get opponents and allies (A.I's) to make the game fair and balanced.

If Jagex added this option, they would tackle some of the most common problems people run into; being the lack of other players the biggest one. In short, these issues would be a thing of the past:

    • Unlocking Music Tracks.
    • Unlocking Rewards.
    • Playing the game at one's leisure.

Of course, you could still play the multiplayer mode like normal, but if you're feeling like playing something else that's not necessarily in the spotlight, this would be the best way to do so.

TL;DR: Add a Single Player mode to minigames where we play against A.I's. This doesn't mean "remove the current system" it's an additional feature for people willing to play but who don't have people to play with.

    Bottled effects - Suggestions Wanted

    Posted: 10 Jul 2020 06:44 AM PDT

    Greetings all,

I'm currently musing on some potential rewards for a thing we're looking at and I wanted to get your ideas whilst I muse.

If you could take one effect from the game, such as a temporary boon or similar, and distil it into a consumable item, what would you choose? E.g an aura turned into a consumable item, the evil tree boost bottled up and saved for later.

So I'm looking for an existing effect in game, that is currently either time or location locked, that could be "bottled" to be used later at a specific time. We'd likely only allow one such effect to be active at any one time so don't worry about how it would stack with other bottled effects. You would get one use of this effect per consumable item.

I'm mainly interested in skilling, but I'll consider combat as well. Please consider small useful effects as well as the the massive ones.
    Please post your suggestions below.

Disclaimer: None of the suggestions are guaranteed to be used, even if they're incredibly popular. We need to consider balancing and technical feasibility.

Calculating how dry you are for a log.

    Posted: 10 Jul 2020 08:09 AM PDT

As I am in the process of going through my logs, I've had some opportunity to do some math.

While the math isn't perfect this is the simplest way of determining how many people will have the log done at your current KC, lets take use me and corp as an example.

There are 7 items to the log and the drop rates are all known, and my current KC is 4,718 and my starting KC is 311 so that means I've done 4,407 kills while the collection log has been out

    • Spirit Shield - (1/64)
    • Holy Elixir - (3/512)
    • Spectral Sigil - (1/1280)
    • Divine Sigil - (1/2560)
    • Elysian Sigil - (1/2560)
    • Arcane Sigil - (1/2560)
    • Corporeal Bone - (1/2500 + 500 Threshold)

Now for we can do a binomial probability to determine the chance of getting the drop after X amount of kills using the simple formula of (1-((1-X)/X)Y) where X is the drop rate and Y is the number of kills, we get the following

    • Spirit Shield = 1-(63/64)4407 = 99.99% (There are a total of 31 9s until we get a non 9 number
    • Holy Elixir = 1-(509/512)4407 = 99.99% (Only 12 9s this time)
    • Spectral Sigil = 1-(1279/1280)4407 = 96.81%
    • Divine Sigil = 1-(2559/2560)4407 = 82.12%
    • Arcane Sigil = 1-(2559/2560)4407 = 82.12%
    • Elysian Sigil = 1-(2559/2560)4407 = 82.12%

Now for the pet, we need to do effective KC, this is an estimation that gets really close but essentially we count thresholds as an extra kill, so for example kill between 500 and 1,000 would count as 2KC, while 2000-2500 would count as 5 KC each. This gives us (189 + 1000 + 1500 + 2000 + 2500 + 3000 + 3500 + 4000 + 4500 + 218 x 10) = 24,369 Effective KC

    • Corporeal Bone = 1-(2499/2500)24369 = 99.991%

Now we need to combine all of these percentages together, there is another estimation we make here and that's that all the items are independent events, while they aren't as you can't get duplicate drops (example this model would allow kill 803 to be both an arcane sigil and a holy elixir, but we know that's not the case) when dealing with large drop rates like 1/2560 it has very little impact, but for smaller drop rates like 1/10-1/20 it would have a much more noticeable impact. As we are treating them as independent events and we know that all of them need to be true we can simply multiply them together and we end up with.

    53.62%

So while I'm pretty much approaching double the drop rate on the rarest item, I'm still just over the halfway point for the log in terms of the average drops

Suggestion: Make Death a slayer master and have boss tasks be a viable slayer training method

    Posted: 10 Jul 2020 09:49 AM PDT

Rework the xp rates and reward shop a bit and you could have a new method to train slayer that goes beyond just being a daily. Doesn't need to be crazy xp but it could be a better way to train slayer for people who like killing bosses rather than thousands of small mobs.

Edit: maybe its not clear but i mean allow players to get as many tasks per day as they want. Like a slayer master.

Music Track Unlocks in Mini-Game Lobbies

    Posted: 10 Jul 2020 01:33 PM PDT

It's no secret that mini-games are more or less defunct nowadays (Pest Control, Castle Wars etc).

I'm going for the comp grind and one of my final tasks is to unlock all of the music tracks but I'm genuinely struggling to find anybody at those mini-games on the dedicated worlds.

Having to actually enter the game to unlock the music track is seeming near impossible unless I start paying people for their time just to unlock tracks.

Are we able to get music tracks to unlock in the lobbies of the respective mini-games?

If anyone wondered how to hold 2H weapons such as scythe or a spear on your shoulder

    Posted: 10 Jul 2020 04:35 PM PDT

I really don't know if there is a simple way to do this, there probably is but this is how i have figured it out and have taught others to do the same. I thought I'd post this as a few have asked me how to do it.

You will need an augmented Bandos Godsword and make sure you have invention cogs hidden, this is found settings>interfaces>game interaction

    1. Make sure you have nothing equipped

    https://i.imgur.com/cN7wfZ6.png

    1. wield the augmented Bandos Godsword

    https://i.imgur.com/uZNF3Wf.png

    1. Go to customisation>wardrobe and save the outfit in whichever preset and click ok

    https://i.imgur.com/lD7QdM4.png

    1. Click on the outfit that you had just saved and click apply

    https://i.imgur.com/iOAMMpR.png

    https://i.imgur.com/64mlyUI.png

    1. Wield your scythe and it should be on your shoulder like this

    https://i.imgur.com/TrWgBpD.png

You can pick your preferred outfit and as long as it doesn't have a weapon customisation it will still stay on the shoulder
