Posted: 19 May 2020 06:08 AM PDT Just wondering why Jagex did this. The spam from all my friends world hopping because they need to do material caches has really been so annoying the past two months. Even with the competition for most caches being eliminated, lots of constant world hopping is still a necessity. UPDATE: Respawn Time (Cobalt Blue example) 90 seconds. Acquired 19 cobalt blue from when that cache depleted until it was replenished (just so happens the 2nd one had a lot of materials in it). UPDATE 2: There appear to be confusion on how material caches work. They are like trees where each gathered resource has a chance of making it becoming depleted. The more players gathering on the same resource, the higher the chance of it becoming depleted. Sadly, there is no efficient way than finding at least two unoccupied worlds and hop between them to get in your gathering to restore artifacts. Right now I appear to gather 1 resource every 5 seconds on average with Honed 6 and T&S Mattock. With a 90 second respawn time, I should be able to gather about 18 resources while waiting for the first cache to respawn. In the end, simply standing and waiting is a waste of time. Factor in that at level 110, excavation sites give me 160xp per material I find while following the time sprite and regular material caches yield only 32 xp. It is a double whammy of poor XP rates and gathering times if I'm sharing caches and not world hopping between spawns. Excavation sites give about 40-50% of the materials you need to restore artifacts. [link] [comments] | ||
