Camouflage Potion in Big Game Hunter

    Posted: 28 Nov 2019 02:19 PM PST

I've always liked the idea for the Camouflage potion, but never felt like it was useful in the game besides in wilderness sneaking up on other players. Maybe it could prolong the detection for dinosaurs in Big Game Hunter? Example: While Camouflage potion is in effect, Big Game Hunter Creatures take 5 more seconds to notice you are in the vicinity. Example: While camouflage potion is in effect, the Big Game Hunter Creatures continue to cool down while you're in the grass. Therefore, this would only be useful for 2/3 encounters so that this would not become too "OP." Feel free to share your thoughts!

Give the magic golem outfit the ability to automatically grind sandstone

    Posted: 28 Nov 2019 05:08 AM PST

Similar to the shark outfit's consume option, have the magic golem outfit have a toggle-able option for grind/not grind.

Could be a solution to the ridiculous task of obtaining extra fine sand - especially for iron men!

Bankstanding for hours on end? Try out the Taskman spreadsheet

    Posted: 28 Nov 2019 04:57 AM PST

Do you ever end up with too many goals? Do you end up doing nothing, instead of working towards them? Then we have the gamemode for you.

Taskman Mode is the critically-acclaimed game mode that tests your endurance, creativity and ability to follow orders.

Your account will follow the orders of a spreadsheet that randomly generates tasks for what you should next do within Runescape. The provided spreadsheet gives tasks that take you all over the world of Gielinor - from the fighting of Telos to the gruesome battle to catch a Big Bass. It's split into tiers, based on difficulty, that will cover all content within the game (we even have 120 Farming/Herblore!). The goal is to complete everything and to have fun along the way.

Even though your account may be an Ironman ^btw, you won't be alone on the journey. Over the past couple of months, we have amassed a community of task-loving players that are competing and collaborating to become the best Taskman possible.

Don't want to play a fresh account or ironman mode? Then you can use the spreadsheet for your current account - no reset needed! We love all Taskmen the same, no matter your account type.

Hop on over to our discord channel or join the TaskManiacs clan to check out the finer details of our beloved spreadsheet. We even have a brand new version releasing tomorrow!

Vulnerability bombs need to be changed

    Posted: 28 Nov 2019 07:17 AM PST

-You can't use them from your inventory, "Bombs can only be thrown from your action bar"

-You have to use them on your target

    -They cancel channelled abilities,

Please look at making these nicer to use by allowing us to just throw them from the inventory on our current target without needing to use them on the NPC.

Jagex, please consider improving the egg droprate from Big Game Hunter. It's disgustingly low at the moment

    Posted: 27 Nov 2019 11:21 PM PST

Big Game Hunter currently seems to have a droprate of around 1/100 for an egg. We can't know for sure but based on droprates for a variety of people, it seems about right. I personally have gone 250 without a single egg. Keep in mind a single hunt takes around 2 minutes on average when including things like time travelling between different instances to hunt, time spent after a successful hunt skinning and returning to the starting platform, etc.

This isn't even a factor for most people, because normal accounts can just let someone else hunt for the first 2 and breed infinite dinosaurs, and then buy. So the price for these dinosaurs will, within a few weeks, plummet, because there is an infinite, completely afk source of them. So why must the initial source be so insanely rare?

The obvious people affected by this are ironmen. And I recognise the whole "don't cater updates to ironmen", but this update seems almost entirely catered towards shitting on ironmen. Aside from the first few catches, mains are entirely unaffected by this change. The only people who actually have to go get their own eggs are ironmen. Now let's not forget, there are 9 separate big game dinosaurs, and if you want them to breed, you need more rng to get a breeding pair.

Again, this is something that mains, (within a a few weeks), are entirely unaffected by except for maybe 200k gp, but ironmen may have to spend potentially hundreds of hours on. It's insane. I'm not saying ironmen should get this stuff for free. I'm just saying that they shouldn't have to spend this absurd amount of time on it

Also, just the logic that you shouldn't be obtaining big game hunter dinosaurs most commonly from big game hunter is bizarre. Like, for mains, why are the afk farmers the ones who get priority over the actual hunters when considering who gets the most eggs? This isn't even remotely similar between the two, either, it's wildly in favor of the farmers. If you want evidence that this is irrelevant, look at Zygomites vs Dragons. You actually get Zygomites fairly commonly, at about a 16% chance for every seed planted, and they cost 120k gp. Black dragons, obtained as a 1/2000 drop from dragons or a 1/200 drop from QBD, and also much higher level and better exp, are 210k gp, giving a 90k gp difference. So the ease of obtaining has a barely noticeable effect upon the actual value of the animal, which is fairly obvious considering you can breed infinitely many of them with bare minimum effort.

So please, for the love of god, reduce the drop rate to 1/20 or something similar.

tl;dr this update actually is catered to ironmen. Just that it's catered to absolutely shafting ironmen and ironmen alone. Please make the droprate of eggs from big game hunter considerably more reasonable

Weapon Switches (especially with action bar binding enabled) are still giving massive fps drops for some people. Can we get any news on this?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2019 12:18 PM PST

    Video showing the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foON2TFn138

    Couple notes:

    • This issue has been going on since end of august - beginning of september, hard to specify since I only have a couple clips in that period to look at and narrow it down. Before this period, I never had issues with action bar binding.
    • You will notice small FPS drops without bar binding too, however these are much less severe and there's been a couple theories to that as well.
    • For some bizarre reason, using auras even makes the issue worse (??)
    • As you can imagine, a lot of inputs get lost in these huge frame drops. Pretty annoying as it can get me killed quite often.
    • Not everyone seems to have this issue or not to this extent. Not sure why only some specific people are affected so badly. Even friends with similar FPS, settings, specs ... don't seem to have the issue while I (and a substantial amount of people) do.
    • You might notice my game cache is kinda on the low side. This doesn't really matter for this specific issue though as I've had a way bigger cache in the past and still had this same problem. Not sure why my cache won't load past ~3000MB anymore though, can't seem to get that fixed either even after clearing it multiple times and reinstalling the game multiple times.
    • A lot of people will probably say "well just don't use it then lol.". You might be right to some extent and it's what I'm currently doing, but I'm slowly running out of patience while being left in the dark. It shouldn't be my responsibility to come up with a fix/solution to an issue like this one. Playing without bar binding is alright but it pretty much means I can't bring multiple styles anywhere anymore as my game just pretty much melts and a lot of inputs get lost in these frame drops.
    • I've tried about everything I could think of but I'm desperate. Nothing seems to help except completely disabling the function. Kind of annoying.

proposal, let us wear hoods over certain closefaced non hooded helmets (such as the torva helmet)

    Posted: 28 Nov 2019 09:02 AM PST

suggestion is mostly in the title, i think it'd be a neat feature if jagex allowed us to attach our hood to spesific helmets that it;d make sense for (so for example you could do it with say, base tectonic or elder rune but not ER+5 or elite due to the horns/plume). It'd be a nice little cosmetic touch, and i just want to see how many people try to turn themselves into darth sidious with the slayer skillcape hood and the ghoul mask..
