    Disclaimer: This guide is made in a way that anyone can follow along and understand. This is not meant to be an advanced guide however I included a section for advanced users if they wish to follow that. The goal was to get the client to work again with my current knowledge. If someone has an easier/faster method, feel free to discuss down in the comments below.

    Section A is for advanced users and skips the portion of making a url shortcut and instead uses Jagex's shortcut thats buried on your computer somewhere and takes effort to find.

    Sections B and C are aimed towards the general user.

    Section B is for taskbar users.

    Skip to Section C if you put the RuneScape Client shortcut on your desktop.

    Section A: For you advanced users – no pictures.

    Step 1: Locate the url shortcut that Jagex uses for their RuneScape Launcher application, its probably in this folder %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Jagex.

    Step 2: Go to your RuneScape Client shortcut and open up properties.

    Step 3: Replace the target section with the location of Jagex's url shortcut, don't forget to have .url at the end.

    Step 4: Replace the icon if necessary, use the one located in %ProgramFiles%\Jagex\RuneScape Launcher\.

    Step 5: Enjoy.

    Section B: Taskbar users. Summary: Making a url shortcut and then using that shortcut for the client.

    Step 1: Shift+right click on the RuneScape Client shortcut icon in the taskbar and click on open file location, if it doesn't open up to your programData folder then put this %ProgramData%\Jagex\launcher in your file explorer and press enter.

    Step 2A: Once inside the files location, which should be %ProgramData%\Jagex\launcher, navigate the home tab at the top of file explorer and click on New item to create a shortcut.

    Step 2B: Alternatively you can right click inside file explorer and make sure you aren't hovering over any file names to bring up a context menu. Go over to new and click to create a shortcut.

    Step 3: When it asks you to type the location of the item, enter rs-launch://www.runescape.com/k=5/l=$(Language:0)/jav_config.ws into the box and click next.

    Step 4: Enter whatever name you desire for the shortcut, mine is simply just rs-launch because I'm lazy. This url shortcut will launch the RuneScape Launcher application, now to apply the url to trigger when the RuneScape Client application is opened.

    Step 5: Once you have your most desired url shortcut made, it's time to shift+right click on the RuneScape Client shortcut icon inside your taskbar again, and this time you want to head over to properties.

    Step 6: Inside properties you want to change the Target to the destination and name of your url shortcut, now if you didn't change the location like i specified, you should only be changing the very end of target since its in the same folder as the client application. As you type in the name it should appear as a suggestion below to autocomplete, make sure it says .url at the end of the target for the shortcut to work and click ok down below to save the changes and close the properties box.

    Step 7: Because you changed the target location to a url, the icon is now a blank piece of paper. You will have you shift+right click on the RuneScape Client shortcut again and head over to properties one last time.

    Step 8: In the properties click on change icon. Click to browse at the top and locate where your RuneScape Launcher application is, if its in the default location, then put this %ProgramFiles%\Jagex\RuneScape Launcher\ at the top of file explorer and hit enter.

    Step 9: There should be 4 files in this folder, select the one that says runescape_shortcut.ico and click to open it.

    Step 10: The Change Icon box should now have the RuneScape logo listed as the only option to pick from, select it and press ok. Press ok again to close the properties box.

    Step 11: Sit back, Grab a cup of tea or coffee, and relax as the RuneScape Client Application can now launch RuneScape correctly as it once could before Jagex broke it.

    Section C: Desktop users. Summary: Making a url shortcut and then using that shortcut for the client.

    Step 1: Right click on the RuneScape Client shortcut icon on your Desktop and click on open file location, if it doesn't open up to your ProgramData folder then enter this %ProgramData%\Jagex\launcher in your file explorer.

    Steps 2-5 are the same as taskbar users in Section B.

    Step 5: Once you have your most desired url shortcut made, it's time to right click on the RuneScape Client shortcut icon on your desktop, and this time you want to head over to properties.

    Step 6 is the same as taskbar users in Section B

    Step 7: Because you changed the target location to a url, the icon is now a blank piece of paper. You will have you right click on the RuneScape Client icon on your desktop again and head over to properties one last time.

    Steps 8-11 are the same as taskbar users in Section B

    Add Prifddinas (properly) and the Eastern Lands to the world map

    According to the world map prif is still a crystal seed in an empty field. And we've known the locations of the eastern lands relative to the rest of gielinor since before we could even go there, but then they decided to not place the Arc on the map.

    I know it's rather nitpicky and ocd, but it's bothered me for years. Posted image is super jank too.

    Would be nice to have a Master skilling outfit set that you can add all other skilling outfits to, with the ability to right click switch to another one to get the benefits of the outfit you switch to, would save on bank space and also would make skilling a lot of skilling a lot lot easier

    This person asked me to buy him frost dragon bones to bypass his GE limit, which I did. Then he was quite insistent that I add him, and then the dialogue in the screenshot happened.

    And yeah, even if it were a scam, losing like 20m or something is no big deal. I'm not particularly rich, but can easily afford that. I know nothing about ZGS and third age dye markets though. For all I know they could be perfectly safe, but the fact he wanted to start with a normal bulk item, then go to these high value single items just seemed suspicious to me.

    So I'm very curious to know; was I just being paranoid and rude? Do I owe him an apology? That is if I ever see him again; as you can see he promptly deleted me.

    Though to be fair to me, I really feel like if he was being honest, he should just use some alts or trusted friends, rather than ask strangers to buy him items worth billions.

    EDIT: After lots of input from helpful people in the comments and from a discussion with someone in a DM, I'm now feeling confident in saying that yes, this was some sort of a scam. The person I was DMing recognized him based on what he said and knew his RSN and confirmed he is a scammer. I'm glad I was suspicious!

    I guess the moral is always be suspicious and trust no one! Yay RuneScape!

    Doing tetracompasses gives artefacts of any lvl. It's a waste to destroy them, but my bankspace is hurting.

    Please don't say "buy more bankboosters" I'm maxed bankspace. Nor say "clean your bank". This suggestion is beneficial to everyone.
