    12 april 2010 was the release of Dungeoneering. We still don't know what the hell happens on Floor 61.

    Jagex, I've been hyped and excited for the finale of this adventure for 10 years now. Dungeoneering was the first skill I got 99 AND 120 in. You've told us repeatedly that the epic finale of Dungeoneering would be finally coming some day. Why haven't we seen it yet after 10 years?

    I know you love to start something and never end it, but you did also say you'd put in more effort into finishing "unfinished business". Maybe it's time we finally finished the Dungeoneering story once and for all....

    Some weeks ago, I started a project with the intention to learn python and the basics of setting up a website. As for the content of the site I challenged myself to create a revolution dps calculator.

     

    I've now reached a point where I consider the project to be finished. I'm quite content with the result and I thought some of you might want to try it out before I take it down.

    Edit: So apparently this is an Apple limitation placed on iPhones. Apps running in the background are in a suspended state, as opposed to running in the foreground.

    I don't know if it's the same for android, but it's fairly frustrating to be playing RS mobile on iOS, and getting lobbied after 20 seconds of having it open in the background. Sometimes I have to minimize to respond to a text or 2, and sometimes I'm watching youtube, or browsing reddit (just like on my desktop!) I think consistency for this across platforms is a fairly reasonable thing to expect.

    If the reason for doing this is to keep people from afking, then why can I minimize RS on my desktop and have that open for 5 minutes without being lobbied? The only difference is the device, but the principle is still the same. I feel like this would just encourage some people to RDP to their desktop to avoid that.

    PSA: change camera mode to freedom

    If you're like me, the camera mode is defaulted to classic. In my opinion, freedom is superior in every way.

    To change the camera mode: settings>gameplay>General>game interaction>camera mode. It helps to also max out the zoom sensitivity located right underneath.

    The Problem

    After getting 99 Archaeology, I set my sights toward 120, like many others. It is a common practice to use your skillcape on your journey to 120. The skillcapes have a usually overlooked feature to them. They can boost +1 level.

    Before the advent of 120 skills, this boost was novel. Now it has a lot more useful-ness.

    Some spots in arch from 99-120 aren't "worth it" to stay at, so a player may use tea or capes to boost past the spot they are on now. For the cape boost, though, it will boost 1 level for up to 1 minute, based on the tick-system. This is kinda useful but also very annoying, because you need to reactivate the cape every minute or less. Aside from the reactivating it every minute, you can either right-click it, or have two capes on at the same time, hooded, and un-hooded. That way you can equip them both, in the same moment, by activating them on your ability bar. That way you can get your boost and not interrupt your skilling.

    Overall, the ordeal is very intense and almost not worth the time.

    Suggestions

    1 -- One way the cape can be made more effective is, just have a static boost while it's being worn. For this to work, maybe people don't want the +1 boost, so you can have the boost be toggled on/off.

    2 -- Or you could extend the time the boost lasts for. Maybe instead of one minute, we could have 5 of the boost. That would make the inconvenience a little less.

    3 --- Maybe it would be even better if we just had the first option on the Arch skillcape be "Boost" instead of "Relic Powers". That way we can get the boost without such a convoluted process.

    In summary

    I don't believe any of these suggestions are really game-breaking. We already have the ability to use these boosts infinitely, it just makes the access to the boost easier.

    I first played RS when I was 12, 10 years later it's a whole new game and experience! While I hate the rona, it has allowed me to get back into RS. Just waited to say, glad to be back! Also, the community is surprisingly really friendly!
