It'd be nice if total skill level had colors when you right click someone like combat level does Posted: 15 May 2020 05:07 AM PDT Whenever I right click someone I notice the combat level right away because the brain just processes colors faster, if someone is displaying their skill total however, in that white-greyish dull color I just filter it out completely and unintentionally disregard if they achieved anything unless I specifically make a point to notice it. If our combat level was displayed like this instead of this would you ever even bother looking? Well the total one is the same on both versions, looks a bit drab (: Could be different than green-red or the same, I'm not sure, just seems like a more fun way to gauge how you're doing in comparison with other players Thoughts? I miss minigames & the communities they fostered Posted: 15 May 2020 06:44 AM PDT Not because the minigames themselves were particularly fun - but because it forced a good section of the community to interact. Both high and low level players looking to train. You'd meet new friends in the waiting lobbies or teaching someone who has no clue what they're doing. You'd try and make friends with those who seemed to be good at the minigame (so that you wouldn't have to struggle as much in the future) and players would actually interact. There was always someone working on their Void, Fighter Torso, gathering items to help train, or even just training combat. Every minigame had a few dedicated pros who spent most of their time there - efficiently or not - and you'd grow to know who they were after spending some time there yourself. For those of you who experienced it - you know exactly what I'm talking about in terms of Barbarian Assault Defenders. As time went on and the gear became outdated and basically cosmetic and the XP became atrocious (in comparison to newer training methods) many minigames have become a complete waste of space - a relic of an age bygone. And with the deaths the communities that once stood there have also died out.
Unlike normal dead content like beer brewing or gnome food delivery - dead minigames are much more visible to the average player. There is the entire Void quest line where they can see Pest Control is dead (even on the Pest Control worlds). They visit Nomad and see Soul Wars is dead (even on the Soul Wars world). They visit the Runecrafting Guild to make their Vis Wax and discover Great Orb Project - only to find it impossible to join a game. They run between Grand Exchange and Varrock only to discover Deathmatch and find themselves queued and waiting for an eternity... without ever finding a match. You use your Duel Ring to Castle Wars never to actually train at Castle Wars but just to get to that region of the world map (usually on your way to the Observatory). As you explore the game world and play you see more and more minigames that are all completely abandoned, even if you're on the designated world to play it. I deal with a lot of new players and they almost always ask me the same thing at some point: And the worst part is? There is almost nothing Jagex can do to fix this. It's a community-led problem because minigames simply aren't efficient xp/hr and are thus seen as a waste of time. I feel bad for Jagex as I'm sure many of these minigames took a long time to develop - much like quests - with tons of unique game assets or unique functionality/engine work required for the minigame to work at all. The Spotlight and Thaler helped people seeking to finish the CW Trim Req more than it actually helped breathe fresh life into any of the minigames. This shows the existing rewards aren't seen as worth playing for. For those who never touch minigames at all anymore, what would it take for you to play any of the minigames? Competitive or better xp/hr for training? Items that provide massive quality of life in some way or useful consumables to buy? Competitive or better gp/hr than training the skill the normal way? TL;DR I'm sad noobs will never get to experience the minigame communities because said minigame communities no longer exist because their minigames are dead. [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 May 2020 09:45 PM PDT Easter was an EGGsplosive and and EGGciting event, now it has long EGGspired its welcome. We are not just talking about the Easter bunny mislaying a few eggs... they were EGGcessively placed (illegally dumped?) everywhere! I hope this removal is being EGGspadiated! [link] [comments]
Can we have an update/more information about gwd3? Posted: 15 May 2020 06:47 AM PDT we have no idea if gwd3 is still on track for release and little to no information in general about gwd3. [link] [comments]
Session Token Expired Needs Warning Posted: 15 May 2020 01:09 PM PDT Just had my session token expire and the client close literally as I was entering the boss room of a large dung floor that I'd just cleared solo. Client closed and lost all that progress. Sooo frustrating. Apparently it happens when the client is open for ~24 hours. I'm mainly an OSRS player, so I'm used to just leaving the client open most of the time and not worrying about it. Sucks that when you forget to close it you just get screwed out of whatever you're doing. I guess I should be glad I wasn't somewhere actually dangerous, just lost about 25min of dung. Jagex please add a warning before this happens! Or maybe just get a new token without closing the client? [link] [comments]

Posted: 15 May 2020 09:26 AM PDT Unsullied ability is far too expensive for its very niche use. It currently costs 223m as its made using 2,000 vital sparks worth about 111k each. It should be updated and or made cheaper since its only useful in 2 cases, Magister, and Corrupted/Devourer slayer tasks. It should either be lowered to say 1k or less vital sparks, or added as a clear for other mechanics at bosses that stack a debuff on you. Possibly Solak and Beastmaster? Just a thought. Unsullied is a basic Defence ability unlocked by reading the unsullied ability codex, which can be made by combining 2,000 vital sparks. When used, the corruption mechanic of the Sophanem Slayer Dungeon will not deal additional damage due to the corruption for 30 seconds (the player continues to deal increased damage). This is particularly effective when fighting The Magister, as corruption can increase to 50% instead of the normal 25%. [link] [comments]
F2P Money Making for Low Level Players (TIP) Posted: 15 May 2020 10:21 AM PDT This may not be ground breaking info here just something I noticed.... Sell the raw rabbits from Burthorpe! I've got a level 3 account up to now 30 magic casting with an air staff and banking the raw rabbits. Took me maybe 3 hours to get over 3,000 raw rabbits, they sell easily for about 725 gp. Need Help With King Black Dragon Posted: 15 May 2020 02:23 PM PDT Heres the down low.First and foremost I'm F2P I bought ($20) l the dragon skin from Solomon because I'm a sucker for dragons but to get the good one you gotta kill the King Black Dragon. I tried to solo him and got wrecked. Didnt expect him to be level 200. I didnt loose anything but an inventory of swordfish but I'm ready to give this another go but I'm almost certain I need assistance. Theres no way I'm taking this guy alone. Any loot is yours. I just want to kill it. I'm Combat level 90 with 73,Def,73 Atk, and 75 Str. I figure a couple level 100s would do the trick I but I might be wrong. In game name is lFistOfGodl [link] [comments]
