Hero Items - a Subjective Review (or: just how much bang for your buck you get playing with RuneScape's most exotic toys)

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 04:48 AM PDT

Warning: Long. Verdict at the bottom.

    Introduction

Hero items is a buzzword invented at Jagex in 2017 to describe an emergent family of items designed with one idea in mind: to create excitement in the game's community. They all have some things in common: each hero item is themed after a different "legendary" RuneScape's character, and each has a different effect previously unseen in the game. The items are exceptionally rare, and a player lucky enough to obtain one is greeted with a global broadcast. With rarity comes high price, for all hero items command prices in the billions.

Additions of new hero items have been few and far between, carefully reserved for the most important updates. To date only four hero items have been released: the Hazelmere's signet ring (with the elaborate Luck rings rework launched in 2017), Orlando Smith's hat (with the very successful clue scroll rework of 2018), Tavia's fishing rod (with the Deep Sea Fishing hub which refreshed Fishing in 2018), and the Guildmaster Tony's mattock (with the 2020's gathering skill, Archaeology).

Over the past three years I was fortunate to own all four hero items and I tested each of them thoroughly. I took them to places where they shine the most... and to places where they don't shine at all. Getting a hold of them was a journey in its own right, from watching and counting the global broadcasts to outbidding the merchants. After months of use I noted down my subjective list of pros and cons as well as other thoughts on each of them. Without further ado...

Hazelmere's signet ring: the Luck of Dwarves for the rich?

The OG of hero items was added to the game silently with the luck rework in March 2017 but due to extreme rarity it wasn't until May that someone actually obtained one. The Hazelmere's signet ring is a very rare drop from the rare drop table, and you can get one from combat drops or skilling via the seren spirit. The special effect of the HSR can double any drop that falls to the ground - this happens rarely, as the chance to double an item is said to be one in a three digit number. Additionally, HSR retains the luck-enhancing effects of the LotD while having increased stats and an additional unique teleport option to the Gnome stronghold. Getting the infamous blurberry special cocktail signifies you have narrowly missed a chance to obtain this rare ring.

I bought one of the first Hazelmere's signets in the game in 2017 from a merchant for 3b gp and have been using it ever since. The ring most commonly doubles bones and charms (the effect is applied before bonecrusher and charming imp) but it has also doubled some more valuable items such as noted black dragonhide, wines of zamorak, tectonic energies, a piece of subjugation robe bottoms, and even shattered anima in Shattered Worlds and dinosaur hides in Big Game Hunter. The ring's price was stable above max cash, then fell with release of the grace of elves and briefly plummeted to nearly 1b after release of Archaeology. Currently a bargain?

    Pros: Cons:
Very universal, works in many combat and non-combat situations, and it can double anything that drops to the ground which makes for a simple yet exciting effect It is a ring, so you cannot see it outside of player examine feature
Direct upgrade from the Luck of the Dwarves in terms of stats and teleports, and can be imbued to further increase its stats Does not double rewards in interfaces, a feature requested by players ever since the ring came out (which, according to Jagex sources, may come eventually)
It is the original hero item so it is also the best-known Unlike other hero items it does not have a fancy mouse-over tooltip explaining its effect

Orlando Smith's hat: yo dawg, we put treasure in your treasure

The reason for the lack of head slot item in the clue scroll's Globetrotter outfit wasn't apparent until the first player obtained a rather ordinary-looking hat from a master clue in February 2018. Unlike other hero items, the Orlando Smith's hat is not an upgrade from any other existing item, but a standalone with a completely unique function. The hat has a special effect which rarely adds a casket of a lower tier inside a clue reward, for example when wearing the hat you will occasionally find an extra elite casket inside your master clue reward. The chance for this to happen ranges from 1 in 100 to 1 in 80, depending on clue tier. The effect is very unpredictable in small samples but somewhat consistent when opening lots of caskets.

I used the Orlando's hat briefly in 2018 while its price was still under max cash but only completed enough clues for a few extra caskets. The hat's price has been steadily rising and is currently in the region of 3b gp, which is surprising since the hat is said to be commonly lent from player to player. Getting an elemental battlestaff from a master clue signifies you have narrowly missed a chance to obtain this rare hat.

    Pros: Cons:
"Completes" the globetrotter outfit Despite "completing" the globetrotter outfit it has no synergy with the outfit's effects, it just fills a slot
The effect is predictable when opening large numbers of clue caskets Does not work on easy clues at all
. Extremely bland in appearance, one needs to know exactly how it looks to recognise it in a crowd, and it can be easily mistaken for one of many hat cosmetics
. Its use is limited to one activity only, but the same can be said about the fishing rod and the mattock

Tavia's fishing rod: look at me, I am the fisherman now

Release of a new hero item less than a month after the previous one came as a surprise to many. The surprise was even greater when players found out the Tavia's fishing rod is obtained in an elaborate setup. The player must first be lucky enough to receive an extremely rare red uncharted isle map either from fishing in the Deep Sea hub or from trading the randomly-appearing deep sea merchant. The red map can then be used to travel to a special uncharted island which is home to the yet-unseen character Tavia. It is a hut on that island that the player may "borrow" the legendary fishing rod from. Novelty doesn't end there, for Tavia's rod is also the first hero item which can directly benefit the players around its user. The rod has a special effect which "blasts" all three fishing boosts to its owner and a random boost to players nearby. The boosts are 5% extra fishing experience, 10% increase in catch rate, and a 10% chance for a double catch. As a step up from the second-best crystal rod, the Tavia's rod can be augmented with invention too.

I bought the 4th Tavia's fishing rod in the game (according to the number of broadcasts) for 2.1b gp from the person who got it. This was the first "red map" obtained from fishing rather than from the deep sea merchant's store. I used the rod mostly for sailfish and waterfall fishing but I also took it to fishing frenzy and barbarian fishing. The rod activates a lot more commonly at fishing frenzy than at sailfish, probably due to more frequent xp drops - I even managed to get a few procs before the effects of the previous one ran out. According to the number of broadcasts Tavia's rod may well be the rarest hero item, and the price has been all over the place, even dropping to as low as 600m gp at one point. Currently nearing max cash as the supply depends on players buying uncharted maps.

    Pros: Cons:
Direct upgrade from crystal fishing rod (10% increased catch chance, versus crystal's 5%, and siphons as tier 80, versus crystal's 70) You can only use it with fishing activities that require a fishing rod
Unlike crystal rod the Tavia's has no requirements to use Its use is limited, but the same can be said about the hat and the mattock
Has an effect that benefits (and notifies) nearby players which also adds to the flaunting capabilities The effect's activation rate depends on the fishing speed so in some situations it activates rarely, and the effect is not very significant in training
Sleek and beautiful design, in a crowd of crystal rods you will definitely stand out .
When you get the "red map" you can save it for a special occasion .

Guildmaster Tony's mattock: I'm digging it

A "hero mattock" was the first hero item confirmed ahead of its release, with concept art appearing around Runefest 2019, six months before Archaeology's release. It is also the only hero item with a level requirement (99 Archaeology). Finally, it's the only hero item so far which was so powerful that it had to receive a nerf in an update. Indeed, the stats of the Guildmaster Tony's mattock were slightly lowered but fear not - it is still a whole tier above the second-best mattock of time & space. Of course you can augment it too. The Tony's mattock commonly doubles your excavated material (usually a few times a minute). This effect also works on material caches, and provides double experience. Additionally, the mattock rarely completes the progress to your next artefact, allowing you to "discover it instantly" (this effect is significantly less common and happens once every dozen artefacts or so). The mattock is there for you to grab it from the display case in the Archaeology guild... but the only way to open it is to get a Shadowy key from a tetracompass. You can also get a distorted key which will definitely get your hopes up but will probably break in the lock too.

I bought the 34th Tony's mattock in the game (according to the number of broadcasts) for 5b gp from the person who got it using a shadowy key, and I have been using it every day for training. Archaeology is still a very new skill and the mattock is in high demand, valued between 4 and 5b gp. The first one in the game was sold for a record breaking 29b gp, which is more than you would pay for a blue party hat these days.

    Pros: Cons:
The stats are a league above the mattock of time & space, and you can tell the difference - arguably the most significant upgrade among hero items (9 versus 7 focus, 85 versus 80 precision) Rather low-key in appearance (which can be a good thing), someone might ask you just why you are using a steel mattock
"Instant artefact" generation speeds up the skill considerably When you get an "instant artefact" the message is white and it is filtered, so you will probably miss it
Extra materials for days Its use is limited to one activity only, but the same can be said about the fishing rod and the hat
When you get a Shadowy key you can save it for a special occasion Requires level 99 Archaeology to use, which makes sense since you need to be a guildmaster yourself to use a guildmaster's personal tool, but it still would be very handy for pre-99 training

    Verdict

Make no mistake - all four hero items are extremely expensive toys for those with more money than brains. For the most part, the upgrade you get is minor and what you buy is ultimately more of a status symbol than a gameplay aid. Are they worth the buck for a rich player, though? If you have the money laying around the hero items will certainly do more for you than partyhats and dyes, especially if you give them an opportunity to perform the tasks they were designed for.

Most useful: Hazelmere's signet ring is the most versatile hero item - a universal top-tier luck enhancer with an exciting twist, but don't ever count on a financial return from the doubled drops.

Least useful: Orlando Smith's hat is a niche oddity for clue-minded players, and despite its consistent effect there is no reason to invest in one unless you are in treasure trails for a seriously long haul.

Biggest show-off: Tavia's fishing rod is an exotic tool for bragging and fishing: it serves the former perfectly, but for the latter it is just a symbolic upgrade.

Hottest right now: Guildmaster Tony's mattock is an absolute beast and a number one for all your Archaeology needs - it trumps all other mattocks overall but lacks a single "wow" effect.

Thank you for reading. Looking forward to your comments.

List of archaeology-related money making techniques

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 01:34 PM PDT

All money making methods will eventually go down in profit as more and more people use them. "Long term profit" is my estimation on what the money making method will be worth in a few days/weeks/months, when prices settle. This is based on the intensity of the method, the requirements and the rs economy. I could be wrong, and maybe upcoming updates can make those guesses irrelevant.

If I missed anything, feel free to add it in the comments.

    # New methods

Ancient summoning : making binding contracts

Method : Requires 67 arch, 50 summoning, combat gear. Make binding contracts. Kill stuff. Sell pouches (or scrolls).

Current profit : up to 25m/h BUT depends on the enemy you are killing and your gear. Right now ripper demons, waterfiends and kalgerion demons seem to be best for gp.

Tips/guide : bring notepaper when killing for longer trips! Wiki guide here. Don't forget you can also turn the pouch into scrolls for even more profit.

Long term profit (my estimation) : anywhere between 2m/h and 10m/h, depending on gear, pouch making method, enemies killed per hour...

    Screening soil

Method : Buy/gather soil from arch. Screen it at screening station. Sell materials obtained.

Current profit : 3.5m/h without outfit, depends on the soil screened and your level. The profit is substantially higher with the outfit.

Tips/guide : haven't found any yet, will edit if i do. I think the wiki needs more data to give accurate screening rates. Soil from everlight, stormguard citadel and warforge seem to be slightly better profit.

Long term profit (my estimation) : 2m/h without outfit, worse money and xp compared to caches but more afk.

    Gathering materials from caches

Method : Gather materials from arch caches. Sell for profit. Complain about altscape on reddit.

Current profit : 4m to 6m/h, depending on the material gathered.

Tips/guide : Bring notepaper. Can be cheaper than porters and allow for longer trips. Consider noting the soil if doing armadyl/bandos digsite (if the soil if worth more than the notepaper). check wiki for cache locations.

Long term profit (my estimation) : 3m/h, 4m/h if hopping worlds.

Disassembling materials (white oak) to make classic component crates.

Method : Requires 27 invention. Disassemble white oak (or any other cheap arch material). Create classic component crate. Sell for profit.

Current profit : 10m/h. Will crash very soon because it's insane. It's been very high for a while though.

Tips/guide : Wiki guide here. It's been marked as obsolete because it's only 10m/h instead of the 20m/h advertised. White oak is the cheapest material as a huge amount come from screening soil.

Long term profit (my estimation) : 1m/h. This will probably never be a loss because classic components come mostly for disassembling materials (disassembling artefacts isn't worth it). so the price of white oak and classic component crates will always be correlated.

    Charging XP capacitor

Method : Charge XP capacitor 5000. Sell it.

Current profit : to be tested.

Tips/guide : Bring one around! You can charge them passively while training arch, or anything with augmented items.

Long term profit (my estimation) : no clue. Probably just some extra gp for free when training any skill with an augmentable item.

    Sending arch research teams

Method : send arch research teams.

Current profit : it SEEMS to be profitable, which is good for a passive method.

Tips/guide : the wiki will probably eventually do a calculator on the best place to send your teams and the expected profit. Feel free to take screenshots of your research loot to send it to the wiki teams and contribute!

    # "Old" methods that got even better

    PVM

List of bosses that got more valuable drops due to arch update, and why :

-Kree'arra (armadyl components are needed for precise perk)

-Kril (zamorakian components are needed for impatient perk)

-Vindicta (illujunkan components are needed for aftershock perk)

-Arraxi (nox components are needed for biting perk)

-Barrows (amulet of the forsaken is needed for berserker's fury relic)

-RoTs (malevolent energies are needed for masterwork spear)

-Nex (torva armor items are needed for masterwork spear)

-Bonus slayer : bulbous crawler as the demand for ancient elven ritual shard increased.

    Big Game Hunter

Dragon mattock added to the loot pool of every dino.

    Finding Zamorak Mjolnirs

Pretty insane money maker atm if done efficiently, as the demand for zamorakian components increased. Guide here.

    Clue hunting

Price of fortunate components basically doubled, for the production Grace of the Elves and Luck of the Dwarves. I recommend Maikeru's guide on youtube.

    Divination

Gathering incandescent/cursed energy is very solid gp/h right now, as the demand is very high to make porters. New relic at level 98 arch increases profit of this method.

    Ports

Increased demand of seasinger items for oceanic components.

Increased demand of death lothus items for silent components.

Now we know that the Monolith is an Elder Artefact linked to Wen

As we can see by this concept art, the monolith is an elder artefact, probably created by Wen. And we already know from Archaeology, the Monolith is older than Senntisten and was acctivated by Zaros.

I believe that we will use this as an weapon or other purpose in the upcoming quest Desperate Measures to defeat Kerapac or during the upcoming Elder God Wars Dungeon, Idk...

What do you think about it?

Scaled Ai for less popular minigames

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 01:45 PM PDT

There are a lot of minigames in RS, and they offer quite a wide varity of activities, from CTF, to unique pvp/pve slayer hybrid VIP deathmatches, to your more traditional battle waves of enemies minigames you'd find in other MMORPGs. The problem is 99% of these minigames require a minimum of 4-8 people period to start up, meaning if you're off the minigame spotlight it can sometimes be a real pain to get games going as honestly while fun they've mostly fallen by the wayside due to the spotlight.

So here's my thought, lets add AI (yes i know you could call them bots but bot has a rightfully deserved negative stigma in runescape so let's just call them AI to avoid confusion and auto moderation) and here's how i think we might work it out, in helpful easy to read table format!

*note, not all minigames would be able to accept this i feel, so as a result, i will list every multiplayer minigame in runescape and if there is a N/A i will give a reason why in the why column. Second, Ai would/should only be introduced into a minigame match if not enough players are waiting, and would be removed from the match as players replace them.

**note, with this update all minigames should be lowered to 1 player to play, allowing them to play with AI and the AI being replaced as soon as one enters the waiting rooms. as well as an option in settings to toggle on and off "join me with AI" for the few on this list that can be soloed if they wish to.

Minigame type of Ai required why/additional things and reqs
Pest Control Ai programmed to guard the void knight (level scaled up to 110 based on lander) but would ignore portals and repairs. Pest control is a wonderful minigame, it can be done with 5 people minimum (but really for landers 1 and 2, 2 max level or near maxed can easily beat it) offering fantastic rewards for your time. The problem is no one really plays it off spotlight as void doesnt usually need replacing and most of the rewards arent enough on their own for players with void/120 invention to ususally seek it out off spotlight. adding ai would allow seekrs of replacement/new void or void quests to do so without waiting for spotlight
Flashpowder factory N/A Flashpowder factory operates perfectly well as is, adding ai would only complicate things
Fist of guthix Ai similar to the player spoofs in Elder kiln, they should be identical in level to the player and survey what equipment is worn to give an accurate ish challenge FoG is rarely played off spotlight, it features few rewards many f2p or p2p remember, but is a fun way to spend an afternoon. However if you are placed against an AI token rewards should be havled
Fight pit Ai similar to the player spoofs in Elder kiln, they should range from half of the player(s) identical in level to the player and survey what equipment is worn to give a semi realistic experience. Ai should be phased out as more players join, with a minimum of 3 being placed in. Fight pit is required for completionist capes and task master, ergo, you either need to bribe someone to play, or get lucky and find another person doing it. Fight pit is also one of two sources of minigame hybrid armor, and frankly this is the most annoying to get. Adding ai would be a perfect solution
Soul wars Ai of a random assortment, programmed either to capture points and defend them, gather shards or, upon hitting a certain capture threshold, attack the avatar. Ai should mimic players in terms of equipment and ability/spec attack usage. Ai should be removed as players join in progress Soul wars is one of the most person requiring minigames in RS. Requiring a minimum of 10 people to get started, it is incredibly rare to get games off spotlight. It offers ring imbuement and some of the rarest pets in runescape. which unfortunately means that getting these items is tied to the spotlight which... is just awful usually for SW, nothing but a stomp if you're not in a fc/clan.
Castle wars Like soul wars, Ai of a random assortment dedicated to specific jobs (ie catapult, repairs, combat, defending, capturing etc) additionally a "conversion" is required to convert silver tickets. CW has many cosmetically desirable sets, as well as minigame hybrid equipment. adding ai will make many of these sets more reachable. Also one further restriction, players may not gain kill or capture capes during ai matches.
Conquest N/A have you ever played chess against the computer? enough said.
Barbarian Assault Role based AI that only does their tasks, at hand, ai should only provided up to wave 9. Ai would be provided for both hard and normal mode like many old minigames, Ba offers many exclusive cosmetic rewards and master quest cape requirements. adding ai will make this more achievable. Wave reset tickets will not be awarded if you reset your wave if your squad uses AI even once.
Blast Furnace Ai that will spawn in and help run parts of the furnace if no one comes after 3 minuets of powering solo the blast furnace is incredibly tedious to run solo, it needs some reworking as a whole but for the mass production of some goods i feel this would help greatly.
Great Orb Project One AI repeller and Pusher per team, if you are alone the AI on your team will do the opposite of what wand you have equipped GOP still offers a great deal of rewards for runecrafters, including the skilling set, tele tabs, rune ess, and talismans. IT has become somewhat redundant to many due to the essence outfits and wicked gear, but is still a thoroughly enjoyable mg with worthwhile rewards that adding ai to would make somewhat lively again. Rewards should be ofc decreased if matches have AI.
Trouble Brewing Ai like other skilling minigames devoted to specific tasks (gathering, producing, sometimes burning, etc) to make the game playable solo or in small groups/ Pieces of eight rewards should be cut by a third if there arent enough players minimum to play. TB offers a lot of fun cosmetic rewards, and is just a blast to burn everything like a pyromaniac. Sadly it's quest locked so few play it even on spotlight.
Stealing Creation Ai programmed to a specific task (combat, gathering, etc) SC offers a few useful rewards like skilling outfits and xp boosts which are sadly locked behind few playing it off spotlight. Reward points should be factored down by a factor of 3-5 (depending on round score) i'm thinking to keep it fair, ai should be replaced in match if there's room.
Heist N/A Heist's base gameplay makes it incompatible with bots/AI.
Cabbage facepunch bonanza Only if no other players are available. AI would only run back and forth and avoid traps till defeat. CFB offers relatively few rewards that are exclusive to it, but it's still a lot of fun, it's also instanced matchmaking so this would simply be a failsafe if somehow you're the only one in the entire game playing it.
Shifting Tombs one Ai substitute that completes non puzzle objectives (if toggled on) while simple enough solo tombs is a bit tedious, this would make it a little less so
Fishing Trawler Dedicated patching ai (2-3 max) Ai should not fix the net only the hull. Fishing trawler is a classic rs2 minigame with many great rewards that make it highly appealing to ironmen and standard players. Rewards should also be decreased by 10-20% as a computer is far better at its job than a player ever could be generally speaking.
Shades of Mort'ton N/A Many people still play shades as it's the only source of pyre logs/sacred oil, which are a great moneymaker with vyre corpses, as well as required for multiple achievements.

And that's about it, I really do feel AI would make these a lot better and more active, as i feel a good chunk of players not playing many of these is due to "well no one else wants to or does play it so why waste my time waiting at the world/lobby?" or get discouraged due to "pub stomps" (you know the fcs if you're a big minigame player).

    Relic Idea - Amascut's Hourglass

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 04:14 AM PDT

110 Archaeology, completion of 'Phite Club, and access to the Soul Rune Altar. There will be 3 1-off location that take approximately an hour of clearing each (for about 300k total arch exp) located at the Soul Altar, Sumona's house or the boss room from Smoking Kills, and the temple where the fight from Diamond in the Rough takes place. Each location has you find a fragment of an hourglass, a frame, top, and bottom, that must be repaired using a combination of Archaeology materials, blessed molten glass, and perhaps a glorious bar or two for good measure. Once repaired the hourglass must be combined with at least 1, perhaps 2, cursed Amascut sand that has either undergone a lengthy process that blesses it or just outright the sand itself. Upon completion, this relic would be offered to the monolith and unlock both a perk and perhaps an offhand magic override based upon the item.

What perk would all this effort pay off with? Introducing the Amascut's 'Blessing' perk that increased the base spawn rate of elite slayer mobs by 50%. This would change the base rate of most elite mobs from 1/1000 to 1/500 off task and 1/500 to 1/250 on task while also stacking with the Fellstalk Incense Stick effect. This would use about 200 of the monolith charge.

The effect logic is Amascut really wants us to be dead so it's really more of a curse but given players want the elite spawn it turns out to be more of a blessing.

    Gaming Addiction.

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 12:38 PM PDT

With the UK's Mental Health Awareness Week hot on the horizons, I think now's a good time to talk about gaming addiction.

RuneScape is the type of game that, I think, has a lot of trappings that can lead people to negative patterns in their gaming habits. That's not to say it doesn't have good aspects, of course, but RuneScape certainly isn't always a net-positive in everyone's life.

This post will focus on what gaming addiction - or "Internet Gaming Disorder" - is, as described by the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition) and talk a bit about how I think we can all do our best to be our best.

I will provide an abridged version of what the DSM has to say for the sake of time - please find a full copy or speak to a trained medical professional if you want to have a clearer, fuller picture.

Persistent or recurrent use of the Internet to engage in games, often with other players, leading to clinically significant impairment or distress as indicated by five (or more) of the following in a 12-month period:

    1. Preoccupation with Internet games.

    2. Withdrawal symptoms when Internet gaming is taken away.

    3. Tolerance - the need to spend increasing amounts of time engaged in Internet games.

    4. Unsuccessful attempts to control the participation in Internet games.

    5. Loss of interest in previous hobbies and entertainment as a result of, and with the exception of, Internet games.

    6. Continued excessive use of Internet games despite knowledge of psychosocial problems.

    7. Has deceived family members, therapists, or others regarding the amount of Internet gaming.

    8. Use of Internet games to escape or relieve a negative mood.

    9. Has jeopardized or lost a significant relationship, job, or educational or career opportunity because of participation in Internet games.

Internet gaming disorder can be mild, moderate, or severe depending on the degree of disruption of normal activities. Individuals with less severe Internet gaming disorder may exhibit fewer symptoms and less disruption of their lives.

    Comorbidity

Health may be neglected due to compulsive gaming. Other diagnoses that may be associated with Internet gaming disorder include major depressive disorder, ADHD, and OCD.

So that's what it is and how professionals may recognize it, roughly.

Don't self diagnosis yourself or anything, but see if there is cause for concern. If you do feel you match these things quite severely, maybe it is a good time to talk to a professional. So, go point-by-point - have you experienced it? How often do you experience it? How severe is it? What can you do to improve?

For my mileage, the question I always ask myself in any situation - gaming or otherwise - is, "What am I getting out of this? Is it making me happier or making my life better, or is it just making me miss out on something more important?" And I make sure to prioritize things properly day-by-day. The questions you ask yourself regularly might be different, but you should definitely be asking yourself something. When you start to take your habits and actions for granted, you might eventually realize you've wasted a lot of time you wish you had back.

Regardless of if you're completely fine or going through a struggle with this issue right now, I hope you'll also look towards others that are close to you and talk to them as well about if they're handling theirselves well or they're using their time excessively on gaming - or any other activity really.

The idea of gaming addiction being a serious issue is still rather new to a lot of people, many take it as a joke and others simply don't consider it at all. Simply talking, planting the seed in people's minds, that this is something to be considered, will do good in the long term.

First and probably last time getting rare components b2b, unfortunately they aren't very useful.
