- The recent oddments sale is a disgrace and not for the reason jagex thinks.
- Regarding Gambling: Just saying Jagex; with Archaeology you finally have a narrative excuse to destroy the much hated Duel Arena, and subsequently RS3 Staking, for good. We could destroy it in some kind of event tied in to Kharid-Et.
- When you've wasted all your oddments during the 75% sale and watch those who were too late for it.
- Excuse me wtf is this haha
- Updated but kept sufficient room for whatever else happens in March...
- Ever since I saw a certain bank flex picture as a wee lad, I've wanted to have a bank collection that I could look at and be proud of. It's got a long way to go, but I'm happy with how it's coming along.
- Finally done with the dream outfit
- Willy Wonka on Rs3?????
- Please at least announce upcoming oddments sales in Mondays' "update" posts.
- I don't think that's meant to be there
- With Master Crafting making it's debut, there's only one next logical step:
- Medium star sale fiasco
- Speaking of ancient artifacts, can we get new ones?
- Archaeology 120 Master Cape & Skills
- Oddments sale
- Jagex, please allow redistribution of the launcher by third parties!
- This is getting out of hand!
- Medium Prismatic Stars are now 33% off, down from 75%
- Why the Crafting Guild Event 'could' be a good thing
- Nice
- Cold fix at 2:00PM game time - Resolving a graphical issue in the Crafting Guild
- This is not a clue...?

The recent oddments sale is a disgrace and not for the reason jagex thinks. Posted: 10 Mar 2020 10:06 AM PDT Dear Jagex, These recent oddments promos are getting out of hand and probably not for the reasons you think. Players should not have to follow all of your social media and play 24/7 to be made aware of these promotions. As a person with a full-time job I can't just pop over to RuneScape whenever i please or crawl through every jmods twitter to see updates. Just before double xp weekend you pulled a similar thing where without any sort of announcement other than on a jmods twitter (if memory serves me right), you decided to make oddments 66% off. Okay, kinda shitty on your end but hey! At least the promo lasts a few days plenty of time for the news to spread around even though there should have been a post on your site or in-game... Because y'know... Not everyone uses every social media... Now you pull this absolute unit and spit on the face of people with full-time jobs or who simply are in a different time-zone. You throw this op promo without announcing it anywhere then remove it before people who have full-time jobs get home. Nice one jagex 👌. Honestly you keep outdoing yourselves. If i just put my tin-foil hat on i can imagine a few jmods and their buddies having oddments stacked up for stuff like this. Was the promo op as shit? Yes. Would anyone who actually plays the game be able to tell that before it was released? Also yes. Is it fair for people who don't spend their lives online? Fuck no. These early-bird bonuses are getting out of hands. Regards, Someone who can't play 24/7 hoping for early-bird bonuses. [link] [comments]

Please at least announce upcoming oddments sales in Mondays' "update" posts. Posted: 10 Mar 2020 10:21 AM PDT It's poor design having sales with no announcement at all, having to rely on other players for the info or miss out. [link] [comments]

With Master Crafting making it's debut, there's only one next logical step: Posted: 10 Mar 2020 09:54 AM PDT Fisherfolk, prepare your tackle and get that rod out. It's Master Baiting time. [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Mar 2020 08:31 AM PDT For anyone unaware medium stars were briefly on sale for 75% off and now for 33% off. This is a pretty big mess up, especially considering neither sale was communicated to the players as of yet, hours later. Sales should really be communicated ahead of time or at least at the time they are activated. This also doesn't inspire confidence as a consumer. Just imagine if the situation was reversed and how ripped off anyone who went for the 33% off would feel when it later gets bumped to 75%. I do like oddments sales, but they need to be done and communicated in a better way. [link] [comments]

Jagex, please allow redistribution of the launcher by third parties! Posted: 10 Mar 2020 04:03 AM PDT The current game EULA prevents redistribution of the launcher in any capacity. The impact of this clause is all Linux third party packages have to wrap around the official installer and grab the executables from Jagex directly. Given the official Jagex instructions did not work for nearly 4 years, I absolutely believe the majority of the community is utilising third party packages for installing the game on Linux. This redistribution clause does nothing to ensure that Linux players are using Jagex's official instructions. As of last week, another Linux bug has been introduced in the official Linux installer, preventing the game from being installed, which is about the worst bug possible for an installer. This bug impacts every third party package because of this redistribution clause, and even though the bug was found in the first 10 minutes of the update going live, we are now looking at up to two weeks of waiting for a fix, if not more. This could have been mitigated substantially if not for this redistribution clause, but as is, more and more people are being hit by it. Please revise the EULA for RS3, and extend this to OSRS, to allow third parties to repackage your own installers for the purpose of providing compatibility to other players. The current scenario benefits absolutely no one. The majority of time spent working on these packages is because of legal limitations, not technical ones. And the end result just makes everyones lives harder. No malicious user is going to follow the EULA to begin with, it does not achieve the intended goal whatsoever. Tl;Dr Please allow third parties to repackage the launcher for both games, feel free to enforce restrictions such as no modifications to the executable code, no misrepresentation of the source, making it clear there support is unofficial, whatever. Take after Valve, who allow this exact same scenario, for these exact same reasons, and work with their community rather than causing unnecessary problems against it. [link] [comments]

Why the Crafting Guild Event 'could' be a good thing Posted: 10 Mar 2020 06:47 AM PDT Personally, I like the Crafting Guild event. I think it's much nicer than filling Lumbridge Crater with AFK and arguably OP(?) training methods - and let's be honest, we're always going to get these events from now on. With the Crafting Guild event, they've graphically updated the NPC's of the Guild, the floor of the guild, and added a bank chest and Invention workbench. The only problem is, the bank chest is temporary - I don't think it should be. Given that these events will be happening regardless, I think it's a perfect opportunity for the teams involved to update, rework and revitalise content. Imagine if after this event ended, the bank chest was kept in the guild and players could make urns faster in the guild. That'd be fantastic, because it would make the Crafting Guild useful - and Jagex have mentioned and various points over the last decade that they would like to make Guilds useful again. We could see these events updating all of the Guilds in the game - improving them and making them useful alongside the events. Let's say that the next event is in the Cooking Guild - there's room to make the Cooking Guild a useful hub for training Cooking alongside that - Perhaps we can make Pies faster in the Guild. A Mining Guild update could allow us to bank ore via the Dwarven NPC's. It doesn't have to just be Guilds though, it could be any piece of outdated content within the game. They could do a Shattered Worlds inspired event and add new rewards, minibosses and hiscores to Shattered Worlds alongside it. Or, they could do a Dungeoneering event, and update the Daemonheim wall kits, rebalance the bosses and add new rewards aside that. Perhaps a Mage/Range Guild event which introduces Magic and Ranged Defenders from level 1 to 70. The opportunities are endless. What would have made this even better is if they had also updated the wall kit of the Crafting Guild - as it's graphics are from the early 2000s. They could of also added a robust glass machine, loom and spinning wheel. I hope these events continue to be in places that are able to revitalise old content, rather than just being in the Lumbridge Crater. Like I've said, it'd be nice if the bank chest in the Crafting Guild stayed, in order to make it a useful Crafting location. [link] [comments]

Cold fix at 2:00PM game time - Resolving a graphical issue in the Crafting Guild Posted: 10 Mar 2020 06:06 AM PDT Hey all, In an attempt to reduce the size of the icon displayed above the head of the master crafter in the crafting guild things haven't gone as anticipated. As a result, various other images are being displayed above the NPC's head right now. Additionally this hotfix is also causing client crashes to players and stopping them from logging in all together. In order to resolve this we will be applying a cold fix to the game at 2:00PM game time. This means we will have to temporarily turn off all worlds to carry out the work. Expect the downtime to be +- 10 minutes. Apologies for the inconvenience. Keep an eye out on this thread for future updates in relation to the pending cold fix. Update 13:39:
