If you were a lurker from OSRS interested in starting RS3, I can help show you around.

    Posted: 08 Mar 2020 03:18 PM PDT

My RSN is Foxis, and I can try to help you get started with RS3, from basic skilling methods to learning how the combat system works, things to avoid/ strive for and answer any question you might have.

If you are interested, shoot me a dm on reddit or add my discord Foxis#9049 (I play rs with pm set to friends, so rs isnt a good place to initially reach out)

    My (unofficial) archaeology preparation guide!

    Posted: 08 Mar 2020 11:23 AM PDT

hello! I thought Id make a sort of unofficial in depth guide of things you can do and the levels youll need to best prepare for the new skill!

So lets get started shall we?

    1) stockpile signs of the porter, these are going be confirmed items that will aid in the new skill confirmed by jagex- no level requirement to stockpile but minimum level to make the worst tier one is level 6 divination.

    2) get 10-20 of each bar for the new mattocks+4000 harmonic dust for the crystal mattock- level requirement varies if you plan on gathering the ores yourself or just buy them, smithing will need at least level 90+ for elder rune, crafting needs at least 75 (along with other skills) to get prif unlocked which is where the harps for harmonic dust are located.

3)Dig site amulets for teleports to the digsite: these are untradeable and can only be made my enchanting ruby necklaces. they offer teleports to the dig site per pendant before degrading to dust. the ruby necklaces are tradeable but you need to unlock enchanct ruby necklace spell which is 49 magic and requires completion of the dig site quest, and then requires that you help clean finds at the varrock museum (post dig site quest) until you find a gold necklace and show it to one of the persons in charge.

    _____________________________________________________________________________________________________

So those three are all the "confirmed" methods that will help based on what jagex has said so far BUT there are additional tips I thought of that can help!

    1) if you have prif unlocked you can pickpocket amolodd workers which give pretty decent amount of signs of the porter IV which transport 20 items.- level requirement for amol workers is 94 thieving

    2) Save up for grace of the elves! this necklace makes seren spirits spawn when training gathering skills, which the new skill will be classified as one, but also it holds up to 500 porter charges so if you have it unlocked charge it up!- no level requirement here

    3) teleportation compactor: use this on 20 digsite pendants to transform it into a 100 charge digsite pendant that wont degrade to dust when empty, but can be recharged by using normal ones on it- level requirement 110 invention

    4) taking a step up from that is passage of the abyss which is a pocket slot item that allows storage of multiple compacted teleporting jewelry- level requirement 118 invention.

    5) if you havent already got them/ lost the capes: get 99 dg & slayer/ go get those capes back and have them ready: both of those capes provide teleports all over the place and alot of them might prove useful in getting to certain locations.

    6) SAVE SAVE SAVE: your money, try to gather items on your own and save money for when the skill comes out, especially if you wont have the level requirements to make some of the mattocks and need to buy them instead. on top of that there are tradeable elements in the skill so have a good amount of money saved

    7) read up on the skill: decide what you want to unlock first or dive into first: personally if you want exp gains go for the outfit first then go for whatever floats your boat!

Unlocking the 'Salty' title should remove the commodity sell per day cap

    Posted: 08 Mar 2020 05:29 AM PDT

The cap for selling supplies for Chimes seems to have two uses, keeping the price of ports products at a stable price and to time-gate the completion of the arc.

Keeping the ports products at a stable price seems to be a nonissue. I have gathered a vast amount of shiny bowls, alea salt, wobbegong oil, etc and I have nowhere near the amount of taijitu to chimes ratio some of these ports resources call for.

Once you complete the Arc the only worthwhile reward from the shop seems to be the experience lamps from the store. Removing the cap seems like a logical step post Salty.

Blight damage counting towards gem scores and pushback at vorago

    Posted: 08 Mar 2020 11:50 AM PDT

Just doesn't really make sense to me that it doesn't count towards these things, we can't really get a metric of how much damage we're really doing.
Surely it's possible to make the blight damage count?

Can we get a confirmation screen on abandoning Menaphos city quests?

    Posted: 08 Mar 2020 02:04 PM PDT

Just accidentally hit the 2nd chat option on my city quest and it just ended the whole city quest no confirmation asked. Kind of annoying when you are on the third task and just missclicked.
