    RooT Updates

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 09:49 AM PST

Suggestion: Add an animal storage barn to RooT + purchasable teleport.

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 01:19 PM PST

Lately I've been swapping out large pen animals for perks. I believe, it would be a nice quality of life update to have the barn near the breeding pen. (A purchase by way of beans); teleport to RooT would be welcomed also, in my opinion.

    The sounds of Runescape

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 05:00 AM PST

I made this track for everyone who've spent at least a little piece of their lifetime making memories in Runescape. It's been quite a while since I played RS3 myself (last in 2015-6~), so I am not sure how much the ingame audio has changed since then. But even if it's completely reworked and different today, I think almost anyone can recognize the old iconic sounds of Runescape. I used a bunch of them to create an audio experience that will take your mind back to Gielinor. I did my best to make it enjoyable for everyone, so I hope you will not be dissapointed, piece! :)

Gout tuber for easy farm request?

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 02:26 AM PST

I wouldn't expect a gout tuber to be required even for a hard farming request, but for an easy one? Seems a bit disproportionate. Gout weed at least can be obtained in an alternative way, but we all know how rare or expensive a gout tuber is. Are we expected to go throught all the trouble for the meagre farming guild exp this gives us? Just thought I'd check if anyone else hinks it's a bit extreme.

I was surfing YouTube and i came across this vid:

    https://youtu.be/TB88piitm9o

I don't know if all of you guys already watched it or you remember it I felt so emotional nostalgic. But really RS has a great lores and storyline (especially the gods/elder gods series which is also my favorite)

I really encourage you guys who don't like quests to start now and explore that part in RS, enjoy the story and not only doing them for the rewards. I really appreciate jagex's work about all stories and quests, gd work. And I still enjoying the game after 10 years. And they should make more of those vids

    Kudos for you

New to Runescape 3. What to do for this upcoming double xp?

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 09:03 AM PST

I was reading a couple of double xp guides but they all seem to cater towards those with near max or 120 goals. I played OSRS for 6 months but got bored so I'm moving to Runescape 3. What should I do for dxp that is productive?

People say do the skills that cost a ton of money but I don't have any money right now.

Loot from 12.2k Prifddinas crystal chests

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 06:30 AM PST

    Loot

Add to that about 500 crystal tree blossoms.

First pair of dragonstone gauntlets were obtained just after 2000 keys used, helmet after 4000 keys and last pair of gloves after 10000 keys.

About 4800 nature runes was spent on alching rune items.

900 chests opened per hour so about 13.5 hours for all 12.2k

    Total profit of 130m ish.

How can I increase my magic DPS?

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 03:50 PM PST

Hello everyone, I just returned to es after taking a break for around a year ish. I used to mainly use melee but I'm trying to branch into other attack types.

I've been using magic lately but I think my dps isn't as good as its supposed to be, here's the stuff I'm using

Nox staff, Seasingers armour & skill cape, Gano gloves and warpriest boots, Arcane blood necklace, LOTD, Rune pouch.

Would using armour like virtus or tectonic increase my DPS when bossing? I don't really care about the price, as long as it will help. Thanks!

Edit: you guys are awesome thank you so much for your help

Suggestion; A QBD update + a hard mode

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 04:49 PM PST

The QBD is for the mid game/new to mechanic based bossing player, one of the most intimidating fights in the mid/early mid game RS, holding one of the best holding up ranged weapons as well as a plethora of loot and supplies of value to everyone. The problem, is the basic qbd has long since ceased to be a threat due to power creep and honestly just the fact that EOC + current legacy outputs far more damage than the fight was originally designed to contend with, similarly to the Corp whom i have plans to make a post about potentially making a hardmode for later. The idea behind this is to make an accessable yet challenging early end game boss that will drop equipment to help players get into raids, ED3, and other challenging endgame content.

    Contents

    1. Base QBD updates.
      1. Quality of life
      2. new weapons
    2. Hard mode QBD
      1. basics
      2. new attacks and mechanics
      3. Duo mode
      4. Rewards
    3. Conclusion

    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    Base QBD updates

The qbd is a very old boss at this point, celebrating nearly 8 years of terrorizing new pvmers at this point and potentially many more to come, some of the loot is far less appealing than it is, but more importantly, i think some basic TLC is needed to just spruce the place up a bit, and add some new weapons as well to reinvigorate the boss a little.

    Quality of life

QBD is the second boss in RS to have used the loot chest mechanic, rolling on multiple loot tables each time you win. so, The first update i'd suggest is allow a "Store loot" function on the final chest similar to telos, so players may just store their loot and get back in the fight fast as possible, then claim it all when they wish, also adding a "move to treasure room" option to the portal available to use if players have unclaimed rewards.

Second, let's add an animation to the QBD once sealing is done, there's currently some friction where if you activate a artifact at the same time she's doing her animation to summon worms it causes... some rather amusing clipping/bugging out.

Third, let us toggle the QBD's wake up cutsceen off, i swear half the potion timer i lose is waiting for her to lazily wake up.

Fourth, please change the programming so all grots die when the last artifact is activated, there's a bug right now where if they spawn as she's sealed they stay alive.

Lastly, please add start a new fight as the left click, and leave as right click for the treasure room. or a separate portal so you can leave or return to the fight without having to right click or tele, with the leave teleport placing you back at the entrance to the cave system not the qbd.

    _-New Weapons-_

Time for the fun stuff eh? new weapons, there are two new assemblable, t80 and to complement the Royal Crossbow, they will each be made of 4 parts + a base weapon similarly to the coral as the fourth and third new weapons added, you may claim a free copy of the two new base weapons like you would a new coral cbow.

    Coral weapons

these new coral weapons will be awarded upon song from the depths conclusion, players who have already completed the quest may now obtain these weapons as you would obtain a replacement coral cbow

    • Coral longpole - a halberd that is T6 like the coral Crossbow
    • Coral Tidesifter - A staff attuned to water, t6 like the longpole and crossbow

    Royal weapons

    • Royal Longpole - a Halberd with a 3 square range instead of 2, t80, assembled from a Unblemished Pole, Whetted head, Royal spike, and Dazzling heraldry. To assemble take the required parts and the Coral longpole to Thurgo and forging during super dragonfire
    • Royal Tidesifter - a staff attuned to the water, earth, and fire elements features a 5 square range (putting it a bit farther than normal staves), Requires an Enhanced Grotworm Eye, Royal Coral, Majestic staff, and mystic bindings, To assemble take the required parts + the Coral Tidesifter to Thurgo and forge it in super dragonfire.
    • Royal Dragonfire shield/ward/deflector - an upgraded DFS that requires visages to function, it would be t80, they require a royal emblem to create and an uncharged dragonfire shield variant, consumes emblems to recharge.
    • Royal bane ammo - combine royal bolts with bane munitions, these wonderful bolts will deal t90 damage to targets they're attuned to + retain their bonus accuracy and damage.
    • Royal dust - a melee consumable similarly to poison, grants bane effects to non banite weapons temporarily, requires a tuned bane bar + 50 royal bolts + 2x elder rune bars and a whetstone to produce 10
    • Royal Dart - an upgraded slayer dart spell, requires 10 royal bolts per cast as well as 5 chaos runes 3 death and 5 air runes, acts like bane ammo and requires level 90 magic to cast
    • all royal weapons would require recharging via extra parts or a repair stand like the existing royal cbow
    • Three new t90 weapons (See rewards for more info) and 3 new shields

    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    Hard mode

Hard mode is conceptually designed to be a challenge, gear requirment going in should be at least t85 if not t90, and will offer rewards comparable to other t90 bosses, further, while challenging Hard mode will offer a duo mode, the HP and mechanics stay the same for Hard mode, but loot is halved, and split between players engaging making solo harder but more rewarding, and duo easier but less rewarding, catering to all who come to challenge her royal scaliness.

    Basics

Conceptually the Hard mode is almost identical to normal mode, what sets it apart is the following

    • Hard mode qbd instantly begins as if she were in phase 4, all her most damaging attacks, spirits, etc are available for her use from the word go, you'll have to be ready to tussle as soon as she gets up with her full wrath
    • the QBD has 300k LP instead of 100k broken into 4 phases, you'll need to take down 75k lp per phase to hope of being successfully
    • Magical bridges no longer damage you for standing on them (hurray!) but, all artifacts now take 5 seconds of channeling to power them up, potentially creating a lethal situation
    • spirits will remain the same in their mechanics and health totals, however, you'll now have only 5 seconds to take them down before she begins siphoning them.
    • Grotworms are no longer spawned in between waves until wave 3's artifact is ready, you'll see why with new mechanics.
    • QBD damage is increased as a whole by 25%, putting it roughly around nex/helwyir in terms of damage.
    • firewalls will still follow the 1 2 3 4 waves pattern as the original fight did, with a change however (see new attacks)
    • extremely hot flames has been replaced by a new attack

    New attacks and mechanics

    New Mechanics

    • Hard mode will feature an "enrage timer" at 100% enrage the qbd will enter a "time stop" and in essence restart the fight, all artifacts will be disabled, and you will suffer 5k damage. resetting the fight to phase 1, upside is if the qbd engrages however each phase she resets will only have 10k hp instead of 75k, meaning this is not total game ender if you survive but a way to make it more challenging and your gear choices more tactical.
    • enrage fundamentally works like this;
      • Attacking the qbd in general every 3 attacks or abilities used will equal .2% enrage
      • using bane ammo variants and bane infused equipment/spells (see below for more information to the counterbalance) will add 15% enrage per minuet of use
      • using auras will add 5% enrage per 2 minuets of use
      • every minuet that passes will add 10% enrage
      • a sign of life/death activation will add 50% enrage
      • killing a tormented soul will add 3% enrage
      • stopping a time stop will add 10% enrage (you should be heavily watching them when they spawn anyways)
      • surviving a time stop will add 100% enrage
      • enrage that flows over 100% will not carry over
      • every 100% enrage she reaches will cause the next cycle's enrage to build 10%, then 20, then 50% slower, ie if you survived 2 time stops somehow, the third time you'd survive a time stop would only add 50% enrage instead of 100%, and so on.
    • Grotworms will only spawn in between and during phase 4 of the fight, they'll be mature grotworms and fight accordingly. She will summon 2-3 grotworms every time she summons with a cool down of at least 40 seconds before she can summon more
      • QBD can siphon Health from grotworms if they are not killed within 30 seconds, healing their remaining health pool to her similar to nex's siphoning of blood reavers
    • Tormented spirits in hardmode will not attack the player, instead they will move to attack the artifacts, making killing them a top priority, if the spirits manages to attack an artifact 6 times it will shut down, halting any damage that can be done to the qbd till it is reactivated
    • in duo mode only 4 spirits may spawn max BUT a total of 6 grots may be spawned at any time
    • enrage is built as a sum total not per individual player per instance.
    • Bane ammo (any type) and spells/weapons now deals 200% more damage and 40% extra accuracy against the queen, making effective players capable of taking her down with incredible speed at a cost that it will infuriate her rapidly.
    • enrage does not carry over to the next instance, further enrage has no bearing on her loot pool
    • players may not shoot from behind dragonkin artifacts, they are now a hiding spot from certain attacks

    New Attacks

    • Royal summons - the queen will attempt to extract your soul, dealing 1000 lifepoints and healing her 2000 lifepoints, she may only use this twice per phase.
    • Dactyl pull- forces players into melee range, players in melee range will be stunned, this attack has a windup and using anticipate will negate the effect or hiding behind the central artifact will also negate the ability, activates in phase 2
    • Perfected firewalls - Firewalls no longer have gaps, instead they are a solid wall and deal 1500 lifepoints a second. to avoid them, hide behind the dragonkin artifact 1, and it will pass over without harming you
    • Royal Shield - any living grotworms/spirits can be siphoned to create a shield that will absorb creatures combined life x2 to defend the queen, activates in phase 3
    • Lunge - the QBD lunges forward taking a large bite, Solo players will suffer 5000 lp if hit, 1000 if resonance is used, duo players will find the player that gets hit will be trapped in the Qbd's mouth, a total of 10000 damage must be dealt within 40 seconds or the grabbed player will suffer 7000 damage + be stunned and bound when released (a potential instant kill) activates in phase 3
    • Imperial Star - The queen will breath a small moving orb of white dragonfire that will hone in on dragonkin artifact one upon hitting the center an explosion will radiate out, players at the edge of the arena will suffer 3k damage, players in ring 2 (about the middle) will suffer 8k damage, players in the epicenter will suffer 20k damage. activates in phase 4, replaces her extremely hot flames
    • Spiritual anomaly - a high health (10k hp) tormented soul is summoned, it serves only one purpose, temporal anomaly. can activate as early as phase 2
    • Temporal anomaly - The queen tears rifts in the arena, they will similarly to Seryiu's attacks put an arrow down where the safe spot is, otherwise a tracking blast of energy from time being torn asunder will hunt you and deal 2k damage per second it touches you. Requires the anomolus soul alive when activated, can activate as early as phase 2, and it has a charge time of 10 seconds. the soul is killed upon activation.
    • Perfected time trap - deals 8k lifepoints flat unlike its predecessor, however, unlike its predecessor it will instantly force all abilities into cooldown, remove all adren + deactivate any potion buffs, meaning you'll be unable to do anything but basic fast recharging attacks, and have to reapply all potions if you survive. activates phase 3
    • Decimation - this would require a new animation entirely, what i'd envision is the queen rearing to her full height in the arena and breathing a massive blast of dragonfire, due to her inability to control her full strength however and the still partly activated restraints there will be small gaps in the dragonfire, stand in those gaps to survive but, you'll still take 5k damage in these spaces, being in any of the unsafe spots will result in instant death. Further after activating this attack the queen will enter an animation state similarly to her bound and asleep, allowing for free damage without fear of retaliation, also any living grots/souls will be wiped out during the attack. activates phase 4
    • Final stand - This attack only activates upon 4th dragonkin artifact activation, The queen will summon energy to try and summon one last decimation attack, that will have no safe places to hide. All remaining grots/souls will die the instant this attack begins, players have 30 seconds to deal 5k (10k in duo) damage or she will wipe the arena, if players have a sign of life/death they will be ejected from the arena regardless.

    Duo mode

So i've gone over a little bit what duo mode will have, so i wont rehash those attacks/mechanics but i will go over the basics, as duo mode is supposed to be the easier mode

    • duo mode can be done via passwords, or via the group system whichever you perfer
    • QBD will have the same Hardmode hp in duo mode
    • loot is split in half, similarly to lootshare, IE. if your partner gets a Visage in the prior round you have a drasticaly higher chance to get rare gear yourself next round and so on
    • QBD damage will be split between the two players, meaning she does less overall to each person but still hits the same damage
    • rare drops will be more difficult to obtain by a factor of 5x base rarity to balance the easier mechanics.
    • provoke may be used to take the QBD's full attention for a few moments.

    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    Rewards

everyone's favorite part right? Hard mode QBD would feature new degradable upgrades from the prior royal weapons and shields upgraded from a few choice drops; heres what im thinking, also i apologize there will be a repeat for relisting the royal weapons

    • Royal Longpole - a Halberd with a 3 square range instead of 2
      • requires an Unblemished Pole, Whetted head, Royal spike, and Dazzling heraldry. All Hard mode drops
    • Royal Tidesifter - a staff attuned to the water, earth, and fire elements features a 5 square range
      • Requires an Enhanced Grotworm Eye, Royal Coral, Majestic staff, and mystic bindings from hard mode drops.
    • Royal Dragonfire shield/ward/deflector - a powerful antidragon shield that grows stronger as its exposed to fire, putting its final stats around t92 when fully charged,
      • requires a royal emblem and uncharged dragonfire varients, feed visages to recharge or more emblems
    • Kin Blood - a very rare drop that when applied to any of the royal weapons or shield will upgrade them to T90 and alter fundamentally how they behave
      • the new weapons would be Curse breaker, Drake Flight, firebrand, and Dactyl Aegis Magis/Rein/Misceo respectively.
      • Each of these weapons would behave identically to their prior level with one exception, all of these weapons would start 1.4k1.9k (damage/accuracy) making them start at t80 and after 1 minuet of combat reach about 2k/3k making them roughly t90, and after 4-5 minuets of combat will reach 2.5k/3.5k making them roughly t95, the strongest in the game for prolonged encounters.
      • to upgrade any weapons 1x kin blood + 2x glaven/ragefire/steadfast part from rune dragons + 4x reinforcing plate/binding stone/algerium thread
      • Kin blood can be used at any time to fully repair these weapons
      • once changed the weapon can not be reverted
      • once converted new copies of the coral weapons can be used to create new royal, and by extension recharge these weapons, they may only be recharged via kin blood or via fully completed royal weapons and sheilds
      • weapons only hold one hour of charge before breaking requiring more feeding, a small price to pay for top of the line weapons, but at the same time making these more of a stepping stone towards getting actual t90 weapons and 92 there after.
      • weapons are not augmentable due to this nature, further limiting them in potential
      • See next section for Aegis
    • Dactyl Aegis - a rare shield formed from the Royal shield, this shield has one major change however, any attacks dealt to the shield will charge it, at 100% charge your next auto attack will instead be replaced by a super dragonfire shot dealing between 100-200% of shield defense at full charge
      • requires 3 kin blood + 2 visages and 1x glaiven/steadfast/ragefire from rune dragons depending on what shield you're making, this shield degrades normally but is only level 85, when fully charged it will be approximately level 90 defense wise, it should also have a feature to be able to manually toggle off the firebreath attack in case you prefer the defense and it as an occasional auto attack replacer
      • consumes emblems and visages to repair
      • not augmentable
    • Royal dart ability book pages
      • consume 30 pages to create the royal dart spell
      • consume 100 pages to make a tradeable version
    • Royal dart book (off)
      • a cosmetic override
    • Black blood
      • a new ultra rare item from the queen designed for pvmers everywhere, this liquid if used would boost potion effects by 5% overloads included, one dose per vial, one use per vial.
      • this drop can be obtained on normal mode but is ultra rare outside of hardmode
    • Dragonkin Ring
      • special ring that stores up damage before exploding, the ring degrades over time, every 10k damage taken will cause an explosion of 5k typeless aoe damage, should provide stats roughly equivalent to an asylum surgeon ring, feed it any royal parts to recharge it, or Kin blood at full charge to add 100% more charges.
    • Retained drop tables - the HM QBD would retain all drops from its base fight except i belive that hard mode should also double roll on all tables, meaning you get one set of drops, then it rolls again for even more drops, to make things a little more enticing beyond the new stuff.

      ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    Conclusion

And that about sums it up, a new hardmode for the qbd + quality of life fixes to make one of our most memorable RS bosses both more fun, and more challenging as well as provide a gateway for pvmers looking to get into end game pvm but who may not have the funds or the time to do araxxor or the other group oriented t90 bosses like vorago whom most if not all t90 equipment is locked behind.

I love how regular animals in Gielinor are sapient/sentient.

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 03:57 PM PST

An intelligent conversation (possibly needing a translation amulet or a Summoning level) can potentially be had with pretty much any animal. Dogs, pigs, cats, cows, chickens, seagulls, camels, crabs, and so many more. One of RS's many charms. Now I feel bad when I eat cooked meat or bacon in RS.

Please don't only change the PVM Hub camera rotation!

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 02:25 AM PST

I know there is a lot of feedback doing the rounds currently about people genuinly annoyed by this change, and DEFINITELY automatically changing the camera is something that should be reverted or turned off entirely!

But don't just focus on the PVM hub though, people have been complaining about Priff and the Max Guild doing the same thing for years now. Auto-changing your camera should not be a thing in the entire game honestly!

    Combat Lv XP Boost

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 03:04 PM PST

Hey all, I didn't know how to title this. But I am very new to this new RS3 game. Have days upon days in OSRS. I am playing currently I got these Protean Hide's that you craft and it just gives you levels and you really don'y have to work for them, It's saving me hours and hours or grinding for crafting. Is there anything else like that? I mean I got 600+ of these bad boys. Is there ones for other skills? Mostly the combat skills (etc. attack, def, strength, ranged) other than the things that just grant you the xp right away? If this all makes sense? Im just amazed by this I guess. Can anyone tell me anything more?

What happened to the weekly player support stats?

    Posted: 13 Feb 2020 12:31 PM PST

We used to get weekly reports from Support with stats such as:

Listing how many tickets they got and how many of each type of ticket.

How satisfied people were with support.

How long it took to respond to tickets and how many replies to solve the issue.

How many accounts banned for cheating in RS3 and OSRS. Also if they were perm or temp bans.

Among other stats in an attempt to be more transparent. The last stats I can find are for the week of April 29- May 5. It even says at the bottom of that post "see you next week". So I am wondering if they are posting them somewhere else now? Or did they just stop doing it without saying anything about it? Can't seem to find anything mentioning what happened. Anyone know?
