    Rant Wednesday is a monthly thread for exactly what you might think it's for. Rant, vent, complain, comment, speak your mind and air your grievances with anything concerning RuneScape, Jagex, or even the subreddit itself! This is your time to get whatever you want off your chest, so make it count!

    You might find that having constructive elements to your comment be received and embraced better by others, but it is by no means required. Think of "keep it constructive" more as a suggestion, than a requirement. The only real requirement is that you follow our subreddit rules, which includes no personal attacks, personally identifiable information, harassement, or anything that can be reasonably considered excessive.

    Apparently Jagex been hiring more employees than ever, increasing benefits to employees, charge less than other games, are less evil than other games...

    why is there less content than ever? you charge less than other games, maybe because you put out less content than other games as well.

    So Jagex just said that other companies are far more aggressive than they are, when confronted with the question on whether they think they are milking the playerbase.

    Hey, Einstein, that doesn't make what you do okay.

    And why are you shifting the blame?

    Why are you not answering the question?

    Saying somebody else does it worse doesn't mean what you do is acceptable.

    The devs kept pushing off the topic of mtx and now we have come to this point where they promised to address it on their dev Livestream....... But they didn't say anything of substance LMFAO! Is this a joke or what?

    We don't want MTX free worlds with cosmetics disabled because it would be "drab", what you really mean is you are scared it will peak as the top played world and all the big spenders would be crying that they have no-one to show their wallet off to. Nearly as pathetic as "we dont want to let people disable being able to MTX and treasure hunter" because "what about those who dont want to do that" or because we wouldn't be able to get vulnerable players to spend money. Probably my favorite excuse though is "We aRen'T tHe WoRSt ComPaNY", even EA's Origin offers the option to cap spending on MTX and other purchases, let that sink in, fucking EA of all companies offer a service you call a "poor financial decision".

    Honestly.

    Mod Warden joined and told us to expect more info next week.

    The next week he then said that wait until the next week for a livestream.

    Now we have a livestream where its just "soon", "potentially soon" and more info at "the end of the month" while they laugh about being pinned down to dates.

    No action, no concrete plan, no clue.

    Here's 2018 Financial Info for Jagex for those interested. Page 14 shows profit. You can decide for yourself if you think MTX is as necessary as they say.

    With the way he tip-toed around the question, we can be 100% sure that exp will always be buyable with MTX, and it'll never be just bonus exp nor cosmetics.

    The argument he made was that players value their time more nowadays...well, if players buy bonus exp, they are saving their time already, aren't they?

    "really the majority of our players are very satisfied with the game and this is what they're telling us everyday" - this is the feedback they give to the investors.

    Before I start I say this as a player for 13 years, the majority of my life I've played RuneScape and I never thought I could or would quit.

    For years Jagex have lied to us, manipulated us and milked us. With each big outrage comes a new host of false promises and empty statements.

    This time it's took 2 months to finally address the issue but this time it was a blatant insult. They know we'll suck it up, eventually quit whining for a few months and continue paying until the next outrage. It's clear that they absolutely WILL NOT change, on the stream they didn't even bother to lie and make some promises on how they'll change.

    It's time to accept that this is the way RuneScape is now and it will not get better. If you can accept that and deal with MTX and lack of new content that's honestly great. Keep on playing the game your enjoying and have a blast.

    If however you've had enough like myself it's time to start letting go.

    Start to reduce your play time gradually, perhaps record how much time you play and see what else you could do with that. Study, see friends, family, play a sport, do your hobbies, learn something, brand new worlds and games. Whatever it is replace runescape with something you will enjoy, that won't make you feel angry and annoyed. Save money and time and use it to better yourself and have real fun rather than fund the corporate greed jagex has become.

    Thankyou to those who made the game what it was back in the day, those who have fought the past few years to improve the game and those few members of jagex staff who still are.

    Let go before you hate the thing you used to love.

    EDIT: One thing I forgot to mention. Other games! There's something new and exciting out there for everyone, take your $11 and time to find new adventures to enjoy.
